hanna,
Oh dear, that might have been me
You see, I was a USAF Comminications Intelligence officer once upon a time before I got out (Clinton) and earned my degree. I fisked Kerry's after action reports and reported on Beldar's blogs that Kerry almost certainly wrote the last spot report based on the classification of the message, the wording of the message and how it was at varience with standard naval usage, and the GENSER coding on the message head.
Of course I might be giving myself too much credit....but I think that Kerry doesn't want evil Swifties from looking at his stuff any more. _________________ -Polaris

With regard to the authorship of the March 13 after action report, the most telling reason I think Kerry wrote it is that the damage report lists the PCF-94 boat and hull number for the PCF-3 damage.
He knew this was his last shot. He knew he was headed out with his 3rd PH, and this was his last chance to pad the record for the future. |

Molon,
Good Catch! This happened in communications protocols all the time. One of the most common errors for a new operator to make using a teletype would be to use the wrong genser code. That's because they got used to the one at their last station. I bet you that's what happened here. Kerry instinctively used his own PCF designation out of habit. _________________ -Polaris

Hanna,
I will. However, I doubt they will use it. Why? Because while it is solid analysis, in the end it is STILL speculation. As I said elsewhere, this is not something that I could attest to in a court. That said, as an analyst, I would be hightly confident (75%+). Remember (as any Intell puke will tell you) that ultimately all analysis involves some speculation and outright guessing....and bias can influence that and I am biased and I admit it. _________________ -Polaris

Well, that may be and I am sure you have more experience, but I want to be clear: I am suggesting he intentionally used the PCF-94 identifiers so that he could later claim his boat was mined. |

Hanna, if you're refering to the "gateway" page on the Kerry website with the registration info requested, you can click underneath all that to bypass it. |

True, but even a seemingly insignificant piece of information can cause something to click when matched with another piece of information that someone else has and wala you soon have a whole story. |

I assume someone has downloaded these documents before they disappear or 'change' ? I believe I read somewhere in these boards that some docs were pulled off the site. |

ED on Fox/Friends just pointed out that if he would just sign that Form 180, then he could prove he is right and end all this (or words to that effect) -- O'Neill on the show by phone with the Judge in 1/2 hr... |
