Michelle Malkin suggested "Slimeball."

Fits Mathews to a 't.'

Judging by his no-show today, I'd say he went down like a FIREBALL. I'm sure he's finally busy reading the book and strategizing with the Kerry campaign ahead Monday's show. Anyone notice how Matthew's left eye started blinking rapidly as he went after Rassman/Malkin? For a minute there I thought he was going to have a complete meltdown. Perhaps he did...Andrea Mitchell hosted his show today. Meanwhile, back at the funny farm, Chris Matthews is lying on a therapeutic couch in a darkened room with a psychologist gently proding..."so tell me about your mother."

He's a skilled operative...

Sometimes people forget that military terminology isn't widely understood to average people. Self inflicted today brings to most people minds the idea of teenagers cutting themselves for attention, not a accident. That's why I think SlimeBall jumped her so hard at that moment because he understands conotations and knew her answer couldn't be a yes or no.

Friggin' hilarious.
How about "The Oedipus Rex Show" instead of Hardball?

Matthews used the terminology "shot himself" because even in a self inflicted wound that gives a whole different picture of the incident than to say self inflicted from a grenade he threw. The latter is an accident, the former is intentional.
