There were many honorable ways to protest the war in Vietnam. Kerry did not choose those. Instead, he joined a group, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, that had disgraced itself by presenting a libelous picture of American soldiers to the world. Nor were they honest about their own service.

As recounted in B.G. Burkett's book "Stolen Valor," Al Hubbard, the VVAW's executive secretary, lied about his service in Vietnam. He had claimed to be a decorated Air Force captain who had been wounded flying supplies into Da Nang in 1966. A CBS reporter uncovered the truth: Hubbard was a staff sergeant, not a captain or a pilot. He had never served in Vietnam. Yet, like other members of VVAW, he served up a damning concoction of stories about his service. Kerry defended Hubbard when the subject of his dishonesty was raised. Michael Harbert, another VVAW leader, had claimed to have flown 47 missions over Vietnam. But a glance at his record showed that he spent most of the war at McClellan Air Force Base in California. His only overseas service was in Taiwan in 1967 and 1968.

Kerry and Hubbard were the two VVAW representatives who testified under oath before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about the atrocities in Vietnam.

Imagine the outcry if one of the 2 spokesmen for the Swift Boat Veterans lied about his rank and didn't serve in Vietnam.

Citing from the Kerry Timeline over at Wintersoldier.com, it shows NBC had proven Hubbard was never in Vietnam by April, 1971. Only days after Kerry had been babbling about war crimes to Congress.

Yet Kerry continues to repeat these false war crime charges long after he knows the co-leader of his group, Hubbard, is a complete phony.

The Kerry Timeline shows that he and Hubbard were raising money for VVAW together in August, 1971 according to the NY Times - still selling their VVAW act on war crimes - over 4 months after NBC already exposed Hubbard as a fraud .

Kerry is documented as representing VVAW up to July, 1972, 8 months after Kerry claims he quit, and over 14 months after Kerry knows that Hubbard, still the leader of VVAW, was never in Vietnam.

And that doesn't even factor in that the VVAW's bogus war crimes were created from dishonest Fonda-funded propaganda to begin with.

What kind of an honest man would be smearing US soldiers with lies and raising money for phonies? Benedict Arnold?

John Kerry's biggest flip-flop of all is trying to replace 4 years of anti-American protesting with a brief 4 months of service.
