Why hasn't NY Times Listed Unfit for Command as a best seller on the web site??? Obviously to prevent sales and support Kerry. Another example of liberal bias in the media. Latest AP list of best selling books shows Unfit for Command as #2 in non fiction group. How do we make newspapers like the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post more accountable, fair and balanced to the public and its readers? If these companies are listed on the stock exchange becoming a stock holder we can raise issues and require the stock holders to vote on policy. Other ways to make these papers more accountable, fair, balanced???

They are not balanced, fair or have any concern with that perception. History has validated this. They only care about circulation numbers so that they can set advertising rates and what editorial policy they wish to adopt.

Note: the few circulation number scandals that some of the major newspapers have been caught at over the past few years -- if they were noble and honorable, then these scandals would likely not have occurred.

In addition, the Jason Blair episode at the NY Times was wrought with patronage scandal, in addition to the lies, embellishment and fabrication perpetrated on the NYT readers.

So if its "fair and balanced" reporting that you seek, you are barking up the wrong tree.

I despise the NYT as much as anyone. However, I don't think this is a case of unbalanced. The NYT releases their bestsellers in Sunday's edition. I read on Drudge "Unfit for Command" will premier at number 3.

...can't believe I just defended the Times, the paper not fit to line my birdcage...
