August 21, 2004--A Rasmussen Reports survey found that 47% of America's Likely Voters have a favorable opinion of John Kerry's military service. The survey, conducted as the Kerry campaign began fighting back against charges raised by the Swift Boat Veterans, also found that 36% have an unfavorable view of the Senator's tour of combat duty.

As you would expect, there are significant partisan and ideological divides on this topic. Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Kerry's service along with 22% of Republicans and 46% of unaffiliated voters.

Seventy-eight percent (78%) of Americans have read, seen, or heard news stories about "a group of veterans raising questions about John Kerry's military service."

The Rasmussen Reports survey also found that 76% say Kerry's political career since Vietnam matters more than his career in Vietnam. In terms of Election 2004 voting decisions, only 9% take the opposite view and say that Kerry's combat experience is more important.

perhaps the most damning of the entire poll is this....

39% believe that Kerry is telling the truth....but 46% believe he is either lying or exaggerating....

Kerry's post-convention "bounce" is GONE, Bush still has his convention ahead of him. Kerry is down, but not yet out--we've got to keep pouring it on, before September 2 throws SBVT off the airwaves...

After that, how about bumper stickers or yard signs: KERRY BETRAYED OUR TROOPS!

Rasmussen state-by-state polls have moved Michigan and Wisconsin from "Leans Kerry" to "Toss-up". SBVT advertised in Wisconsin, and did some of the news cross the lake?

That'a great news! We all just have to keep hammering and not let up. No reason to let up during the convention. I'm looking forward to the convention too, but I won't slow down coming here and e-mailing the truth while it's on. I'll tape most of the convention and watch it over that next week. If lots of people do that then nothing will be lost here, and the heat will stay on, no matter how much the media hates it. Smile
