As most of you know, there are groups of people who buy up doamin names similar to popular web sites only with common misspellings or mistypings. Looks like Salon.com has taken up this tactic to fight against the Swift Vets. While checking some comman mistypes for www.swiftvets.com, I typed in www.swiftboatvets.com which took me to an article on the Salon website titled "Smear Boat Vets for Bush". Just an FYI, and to remind everyone how many we're fighting against to get the truth out there.

Oh what a convoluted web they weave. Interesting how Salon is getting the redirect on this one:
Domain swiftboatvets.com:
Anko Siowika
Ichigaya Sanai-Cho
Shinjuku-Ku, Tokyo 162 JP
Record created on: 2004-05-05 15:28:34 PDT (0)
Who's name servers are on fabulous.com but who's actual IP address is resolved by:
OrgName: Cable & Wireless
OrgID: EXCW
Address: 3300 Regency Pkwy
City: Cary
StateProv: NC
PostalCode: 27511
Country: US
Who is owned by:
SAVVIS.NET
216.91.182.63
Record Type: IP Address
OrgName: SAVVIS Communications Corporation
OrgID: SAVV
Address: 1 SAVVIS Parkway
City: Town and Country
StateProv: MO
PostalCode: 63017
Country: US
Which actually points the domain call to their Santa Clara office.
Salon appears to be on their way out. They are now depending on family to get cash to continue to operate. It could be their most recent grab is a way to try to garner support from dems just to keep on the net. Their SEC filings are downright scarey. _________________ Why ask? Because it needs asking. |
