Quote: | An unsigned "personnel casualty report," however, erroneously implies that Kerry suffered "shrapnel wounds in his left buttocks" later in the day, following the mine explosion incident, when he also received "contusions to his right forearm."
Anti-Kerry veterans have accused Kerry of conflating the two injuries to strengthen his case for a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Kerry's Bronze Star citation, however, refers only to his arm injury.
|
But Kerry's website lists the same report as the basis for his 3rd Purple Heart.
Forget the Bronze Star. Is shrapnel mentioned on the Purple Heart application?
And did the Navy hand out PHs for "contusions" (bruises) only? |

A contusion is a bruise that doesn't break the skin. The other injury was from the famous "rice patty demolition" wasn't it. If that is really what that Purple Heart was given for it makes me tremendously angry because my husband will suffer the rest of his life for the one he received. _________________ Proud to serve! Indeed the spot report on the Kerry website under purple heart spot reports.
Quote: | LTJG KERRY SUFFERED SHAPNEL WOUNDS IN HIS LEFT BUTTOCKS AND CONTUSIONS ON HIS RIGHT FOREARM WHEN A MINE DETONATED CLOSE ABOARD PCF-94 |
http://www.johnkerry.com/about/john_kerry/combat_reports.html
Leading me to believe the spot report as written( by Kerry?) implies the shapnel was a result of the mine and not the rice bin explosion earlier in the day as reported in tour of duty. If the PH could be awarded for just a bruise, why the addition of the rice-wound? |

The Washington Post absolutely debunked Rassman's no man left behind story.
What happened to all the boats leaving until Kerry forced them to turn around?
Didn't happen. _________________ Talking point #1: Sign 180

Exactly. These are Rassman's words before the Iowa Primary on January 17th.
Jim Rassmann - "We Got ambushed, one of our boats, one of John's boats was blown out of the water we went over to help it and I got blown off the boat, and I assume whatever blew me off injured your arm. And I went to the bottom because the next boats in line were about to come over me. I stayed on the bottom as long as I could and when the last boats were gone, they were gone, they were around the bend and out of sight. And I started swimming under water for as long as I could. Coming up for air when I had to, and I was getting shot at, and I figured it was up, my number was punched. And the next thing I knew after coming up for air about 5 times was the boats were coming to the rescue..." |
