You guys are great. I am out of work and have donated $50.00 I'm going to give another $50.
I have two copies of Unfit for Command, so that I can lend them out, but I have not been able to read it because I am following the breaking new on this story morning, noon and night! I am all over this.
There is hope for this country yet.
Thank You

You bet I will, Lew. By the way, my brother was in Nam. 1st Cavalry, Infantry (the yellow shield with a black horse head and black diagonal stripe), about 1969-70. He doesn't like to talk about it. I know he saw plenty of action.
A few weeks ago at a party my nephew said we have to defeat George Bush and my brother agreed. He is a union steward for the Chicago Transit Authority and is pro union and therefore Democratic.
I said "How could you be for Kerry after what he did to the Vets? "
My nephew, who is only 19, said "What did he do?"
I said "He spent 4 months in Viet Nam, faked three Purple Hearts and got out, came home and joined Hanoi Jane Fonda in taking the side of the Commies and calling the Vets baby killers."
My brother just stared at the ground with a sad smile on his face, saying nothing, like he knew what a jam he was in, between his union and a rat like Kerry. I dropped it. I have too much love and respect for him to push him on his thoughts and feelings on Viet Nam. He had told me himself that he was spat on and called a baby killer when he came home. I was 11 at the time.
He will be the first one I lend a copy of the book to. |
