Ah, OK. I see the "Everyone.." vs. "No one..."

I missed that because I saw that a version of this line:

", Kerry is not very brave" is used by paideia himself, but apparently should read ", Kerry is very brave" as depicted in paideia's post above on page 4.

EDIT2: IF you open your own post soon enough after you posted it, the "Last edited by..." annotation that is automatically inserted by the software doesn't actually get inserted. This edit was the second one I did on this post. There is no annotation for either of them.

EDIT3: actually this is a third one

EDIT4: The time now is 1311 EDT

EDIT5: This time I opened my topic for editing at 1312 EDT. I left it open for editing until 1320 EDT and then I submitted it, after typing this EDIT #5..

OK, the edit that I submitted at 1320 did receive the annotation.

EDIT1: and notice that it says "edited 1 time in total" in that annotation.

So we have some hiccups in the software, it seems. Thank you.

paideia, that was not a nice accusation. Banned.

Thanks for your replies. I'm curious what you think about the content of the chart, denoting the contradictory testimony given by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth? That was somewhat disturbing to me. Do any of you have evidence that these comments, as shown by the Times chart, were not made or misquoted?

Elliot and Lonsdale only learned the truth about Kerry in late 2003. When Brinkley's book, "Tour of Duty" was published, many Swift vets realized for the first time a) that Kerry had gotten the first PH, b) that he was claiming credit for things others did, and c) that he had gotten an early out. The officers above Kerry were dependent upon the spot reports Kerry himself wrote about the actions, which are belied by the damage reports, the injury reports, and eyewitness testimony. It was only when ToD was published that Swift vets got together to discuss Kerry and his reported heroism. Indeed, one may say that ToD helped create the SBVFT.

If you later learn facts previously unknown, you are not changing your story but expressing a new understanding. Had there been no revelations in the interim, and they altered their statements, they would have been suspect as being motivated by political concerns.

Do we say that the change in airline policy from going along with hijackers to actively resisting them was "changing their story?" No, because subsequent events have demonstrated that the former position was based upon false assumptions.

The whole SBVFT connections to the Reps is ludicrous considering the Dem connections to their 527s. Kerry's Director of Communication and Organization was MoveOn.org's director of communication (Exley). Top Dem doners have donated *millions* to MoveOn.Org, Media Fund and Americans Coming Together (Soros is about 3rd on the list, behind the Progressive CEO and Steven Bing, each who have given over $12 million to 3 527s against Bush). The founder of Media Fund is Ickes, Clinton's deputy Chief of Staff. The DNC and Moveon.org are represented by the same counsel. The generic rules governing lawyers' conduct requires that you not serve two clients where your access to confidential information will threaten the interests of another client, and that you may not represent two clients if their interests are materially adverse. You may sometimes get by with such dual representation if you have written and signed informed consent. The point is that there is no conflict here, since their interests are completely alligned. Some Dem defenders say MoveOn supported Dean, but that is silly - they are dedicated to removing Bush, and it doesn't matter who the candidate is.

A big part of your chart is Merrie Spaeth and Spaeth Communications ties to Reps. But MoveOn.org uses @dvocacy, Inc., as one of their PR firms (when you have hundreds of millions to spend, you need more than one PR firm...). @dvocacy, Inc., specializes in Dem campaigns, and lists over 20 high-profile Dem candidates (and no Reps) they have had as clients, including Dick Gephardt and Bob Graham, as well as Gavin "Gay Marriage in SF" Newsome, a rising star in Dem circles.

For anyone to criticize SBVFT for their "connections" to the Reps while ignoring for years the connections between the Dem 527s and the DNC is absurd.[/i]
