I caught the last 5 minutes -- hadn't noted an alert on the board -- I had chk'd program guide on cable, but I don't recall any mention of O'Neill -- might be the only show he is on today? Darn - and I don't see any replay indicated. |

Again, we see more Kerry water boys(Podesta) fail to make hay out of Kerry's contradictions regarding Cambodia etc...
I got the feeling Podesta found out just how many holes are in Kerry's story. My guesse is neither the Kerry campaign nor Podesta want to see another face off between these two.
Nice Job Mr. O'Neill. The truth has again prevailed. |

I just watched the segment with George S. on ABC. The last part when O'Neill made his case brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of him!!! He made a case that was so credible and the conviction in his voice would sway anyone who watched with an open mind!!! _________________ The door to the room of success swings on the hinges of the opposition. |

George was "Slick Willey's" first press secretary but after he left and his book came out that administration didn't like him much any more. He's one of the true and lasting legacys of the "Clinton White House' (kinda like the Republican control of congress). |

Obviously this was, and should be, the way that all interviews should go in the future. O'Neil stayed the course. I think he is getting better and better as the interviews go forward. He knows he only has a few seconds to hammer on the facts before he is shouted down by stupid comments off-topic.
Congratulations to Step for his courage and O'Neil for his stamina! |
The SBVTs may well have a friend in George S. Yes, he was a Clinton aide, however, he resigned prematurely and went into the news business. The speculation among conservatives was that George is a decent man who came to despise the lies and spin he was dealing with in the White House. I cannot recall exactly what George himself said, but I believe some of his comments supported the speculation. _________________ --Mona-- |

This kind of reminds me when Clinton sent all his people out to defend him in how he "did not have sex with that woman".
I always wondered how they felt when they learned he had actually lied to them and they were actually defending something that wasn't true.
I don't know of any story where any of his people resigned in disgust or anything along those lines. I would be pissed if someone knowingly sent me out on a fool's errand like that.
You do your job in good faith, and your boss makes an ass out of you. I wouldn't forgive them.
Podesta looked clearly overmatched. And Podesta is a smart guy. He just didn't have the facts on his side. _________________ Talking point #1: Sign 180

tvaughn,
You can count Gore as one of those that never forgave Clinton. For all his liberalism and faults (and exaggerations), Gore is a highly moral person. He never forgave Clinton for lying to him....and that is why he had as little do with Clinton as possible during his 2000 campaign. There were many reports of bad blood. It probably cost Gore the election. _________________ -Polaris

Alot more civil than any other show that I've seen yet - at least there wasn't an overemphasis of overtalking and shouting while Mr. O'Neil is trying to answer.
I think the best question, of the entire show, was the last one of the show. George Stephanopoulos asked: "After the election, will this be the last we hear of this issue?" He got a resounding NO!
That spoke volumes to me - it tells me that they know that this is something bigger than the election - ie, it is not only dealing with WHO caused the problem - but, also dealing with the EFFECTS of the problem. _________________ Know the difference between Politics and Mesmeratics - one embraces, propagates and promotes the truth, while the other manipulates it! |
