Old Vietnam veteran, Army, 9th INF DIV, Mekong Delta 1966-67, Mobile Riverine Force, Dong Tam. Honored to join you guys! I have my son in Najaf, Iraq right now, Combat Medic 91W with the 1st Cav. I am really concerned for the safety of our troops there with Kerry as Commander-in-Chief.

I agree with you. This isn't about politics, it's about Kerry. It appears he is all over the map in confronting terrorism. And his reliance on France or Germany is a pipe dream. Anybody who puts our safety and well being under the direction or desires of the UN or international community is selling us all out.

As for G. W's guard service, I have no problem with that. Anyone who straps a jet to their butt isn't at a loss for courage.

I grew up watching body counts with Walter Cronkite and before I was out of High School joined the Army National Guard as Green Beret (19th SF, SLC, UT) but decide that wasn't for me. I then walked into the Navy recruiting office to see what they had to offer. I spent the next three years growing up on the flight line and deck of a carrier with VA-95 (A-6 Intruders). I did get closer to the real fighting there, closer than I ever would in the Guard. I was on board the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) for the fall of Siagon in May '75 and the rescue of the Merchant Ship Miguez from the Cambodian's in April '75. Seperated from active service in 1976. Out of money during college I spent a year with a reserve Seabee unit until discharge in 1979. After the first Gulf War, I joined the Naval Reserves again, as an Intel Specialist, this is what I'm still doing. I have participated in exercise in Korea and have been forward deployed with a SEAL TEAM 1 platoon in the mid-nineties (6 month WestPac deployment with majority of the time in UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait). Recalled to Active Duty after 9/11 for a year supporting SOUTHCOM in Miami. I currently support CENTCOM and we have seven personnel currently on one year activation orders. Anyone, who thinks the reserves is out touch with the needs of our country and is skirting the dangers of service need to think through what they are saying. The Naval Reserves has suffer the loss of 7 Seabees KIA in Iraq and 17 wounded. I tip my hat and say prayers every day for all the Reserves currently deployed especially the Marines, Army Reserves, National Guard, Coast Guard, and Naval Reservist who are shouldering tremendous responsibilities right now in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosvo, and state-side. I, also, pray for all our active duty personnel.

Kerry is the wrong person for any position of responsibility. We need to stand strong and unwavering in face of our new enemy. G. W. has provided that strength and courage. We have a very smart and clever opponent in this war on terror. We may have been caught by surpise by them once but we can ill afford to be flat-footed a second time.

Let me introduce myself. I served in the RVN from 10-70 to 2-72. Served in Chu Chi for 5 months then was transfered to MACV Advisory Team 64 in Chu Doc Province, district of Tan Chau on the mouth of the Mekong River and the boarder of Viet Nam and Cambodia. Worked with the ARVN, Regional Forces and Provincial Forces. Served both units as an RTO. Thats where I met the good old brown water Navy guys who gave us a ride now and then. Also used their gunships on more than one occassion (Sea Wolf). They saved my bacon more than once and I'm proud to have known the Navy guys. Left the RVN for the world on 2-12-72 to as you all know a very hostile enviorment for us vets. Keep the heat up guys, Hanoi Johns getting his dues.

I didn't join until 1974 & by then the action in Viet Nam was over. I did 4 years in the 82nd Airborne, first as a sniper then as an infantry squad leader. I will do anything I can to help you-get your message out. Whatever you need please don't hesitate to ask.

I served in the US Army from 1975 to 1978 as an MP. I would appreciate acceptance in your group even though I never made it to Vietnam. I left High School early, and enlisted as soon as the Army would take me.

I fully support your program to get the truth out about John Kerry.

I was deployed to RVN in May of 1967 with 6th bn, 77th arty. We were attached to the 25th inf div at Cu Chi. I shortly was reassigned to 25th div artillery hq, stayed there for the rest of the tour. Honorably discharged in Oakland in April, 1968.
