Let me start and tell you I spend 22+ years, 1967-1989 in the Air National Guard and I have an honorable discharge.

When John Kerry's supporters go on the Radio or T.V. they miss state the fact that Kerry volunteered for the Navy or Combat.

He petitioned his draft board for a student deferment. After they refused, Kerry enlisted in the Naval Reserves, I repeat, he enlisted in the Naval Reserves, "STATUS INACTIVE," not the Navy. The important fact here is the enlistment was in the US Naval Reserves, which is an honorable service, but he did not volunteer for the Navy.

The Navy reserves where the duty commitment was shorter and a larger proportion of the period could be served stateside or inactive duty.

Meanwhile his moutpieces have been going on TV and saying he volunteered to go into the Navy right away. Thats not the truth. And they are not being called on it as much as I'd prefer them to be.

In late 1968 the Swift Boats mission was redefined and sent into real combat.

Bush or his unit could've been call into service just like Kerry, so please
don't let the Kerry's mouth piece mis-state the truth. They have gotten away with it on every show and they havent been called on it. Kerry didnt VOLUNTEER for the Navy!

P.S. Kerry spokesman John Hurley has repeated about 895 times this week that "John Mccain has called this ad dishonest and dishonarable." Next time someone is debating him and he repeats that again(seems to be a favorite talking point) can someone just yell at him:

WHO CARES WHAT JOHN MCCAIN THINKS, HE WASNT FRICKIN THERE!

Hence, the designation "USNR" next to Kerry's name on all the Navy documents I've seen. I wondered about that. Most other officer names show "USN" after them.
