Navy_Brat, I can totally agree with your statement of them changing on ya. I was right beside you when it was free and we helped make them to what they are. Then one day they limited me on how much I could receive for free and then they pretty much told me what to do or go elsewhere. So I know those feelings.

But it couldnt hurt for someone to check into this. I do see the pros and cons on this matter and I trust the owner/ founder of this site to make the right decision. Regardless of their decision, I will be right here. I do think it would help with the smaller donors but the bigger donations might still come the way they are now. But who knows, I have been wrong once before...hehehehe Mr. Green

Here's something to think about...Get your credit card customized with SBVFT logo...then when you buy your books at B&N they'll cringe.

G'Day Folks,

Wasn't being Pro or Con on Paypal thing, I sent my contribution using my Paypal Credit Card so it actually would have been easier just to do it directly from Paypal... actually after I wrote that I figured out for myself it was kinda foolish.... dont think the Card Service Swiftvets uses it doing it for free.... Duh on me. My second thoughts on it are any way to make it easier to contribute should definitely be looked into and adopted if possible...

Paypal is a great idea.Fees notwithstanding any resource to collect more money should be explored.Me personally I will use either credit card or paypal doesnt matter to me.Electronic online checks is another option also.

I have not donated to SBVT not because I dont want too but because I dont trust the security of online and my credit cards. I do have a paypal account linked only to my savings account which I put basically my spending money if for online purchases.

If SBVT had papal Id be donating instantly!!!

For those who don't trust secure connections for credit card transactions, contributions can also be sent to:

When contributing by check, please include your occupation and employer.
Checks should be made payable to "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth".

Dear Jeff,

I accept 4 major credit cards in the course of my business. It is a necessity. There is a 25 cent per transaction fee, billing fees and my rates (I do good volume) are between 2.25 and 3.5%. I also pay $46.00 monthly to lease a terminal upon which to make transactions and pay additional for a separate, dedicated phone line. If I compare the money I pay to Visa, Amex, Discover and Mastercard, I don't find PayPal rates out of line. Honesty, that is the truth.

Amen brother, I'm in the gas station business. I've got one store that will hit $125,000 in credit card fees this year. Every single time the customer sticks that card in the pump, there goes 6 cents to the Credit card companies per gallon pumped. If the average car gets 15 gallons, then look at the parking lot of the next gas station you drive by and view the vehicles there as 90 cents of Visa/MC's money.

I just went online and donated by my credit card. I still would rather do it using PayPal. Lots of people use PayPal and not credit cards on line for the very reasons given in an earlier post...they don't trust security online. I've just gone through an identity theft thing and I can tell you it's a nightmare. Far easier with PayPal. Anyway, anything we can do to generate more contributions is my ideal. Some people send checks. Some people use credit cards. Some use PayPal. Lets cover all the bases.
