Not a bestseller?
Reader Ken Smith of Portland, OR, writes with distressing news about Amazon.com, where I buy 90% of my books.
I just went to Amazon to check on the Sales Rank of Unfit for Command. It does not appear on the Bestsellers list anywhere.
The 9/11 Commission report is the first entry! Its sales rank is #2. In the "other books" under the 9/11 report is a link to Unfit.
It's sales rank is #1. This is the most blatant scam I have ever seen.
Please publicize this gross deception. I have already sent Amazon an email, asking them what's going on.
If they're taking sides this blatantly, they've lost a customer for life.

Went to www.amazon.com....clicked on the "Top Sellers" tab....it comes up with "Bushworld: Enter At Your Own Risk" by Maureen Dowd, under Books -> Nonfiction. Tried it a couple times....same result. Boy, that's weird.
Then I clicked on the "Books" link to the left....there is "Unfit For Command", clearly right at number 1. "Usually ships in 5 to 7 weeks" which tells me the book is indeed selling well
I am not arguing for the idea that Amazon is engaged in a conspiracy against UFC....Neither am I arguing against the idea. |

It shows up as #3 on the NYT bestseller list
http://www.nytimes.com/pages/books/bestseller/
Ill admit 3rd place isnt number one but the week ending for the NYT was just when the book started selling. I expect this week for it to be #1 on the Spew York times list. _________________ John Kerry, R.I.P. (Rot In Paris) |

No...I have been checking Amazon daily for the past week....I watched UFC go from "ships in 1-2 days" to "ships in 1-3 weeks" to "ships in 5-7 weeks"....now and then, briefly it will bounce down to "ships in 1-3 weeks".....it is a matter of supply and demand.....it is a good problem to have, i.e., high demand.....they need a big shipment from Regnery or whoever, then it will bounce down again. |

Guys, it may be true that they ALREADY ran out of books.
I read on the Drudge Report, perhaps 2 days ago, that the Publisher had ordered the printing of 550,000 new books have been ordered! |

Actually, it's FANTASTIC news. DEMAND is there - DEMAND for the book, DEMAND for TRUTH.
Also, Amazon ain't the only place to pick up a copy (although I got mine Friday),
It's a great read so far!

I sent Amazon this note:
Quote: | ...I ordered the book "Unfit for Command" on 8/6 and it is
showing in my que as shipping on 8/26-8/28; however, I do have a
question: I have three friends that live within 20 miles of me that
ordered their books on 8/10 and 8/13 (repsectively) and they received
their copies yesterday. Does amazon.com ship the orders in the order
that they are received?... |
and got this response:
Quote: | Thanks for writing to Amazon.com.
"Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry"

...And I just bet several copies were purchased by the Kerry Kamp in order to prep some needed responses.
I imagine them going over the book line by line, hoping, praying that they'll find something that isn't accurate.
All it will do is place additional doubt in some poor Kerry-ites head, the fact that he/she has backed the wrong guy seared, SEARED into them.

Bestselling books. It's still #1. And the five reviews that have been there, are still there - three 5-star reviews, one 4-star, and a goofy 1-star that you have to click on 'complete list' to see. |
