Max Cleland and Texas Generals Kick-off Texas Veterans for Kerry The Veterans That Know Bush Best Rally for John Kerry

May 11, 2004

San Antonio, TX

On Wednesday May 12th, former Senator and VA Secretary Max Cleland
joins the Bolaņos Brothers - the only four brothers to serve together in Vietnam
- and Henry Cisneros, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for a
rally to kick-off Texas Veterans for Kerry.

A highly decorated team of Texas endorsers, including General Anthony A. Verrengia, General Valenzuela, General Daniels, General Johnson, and General Belisario, will rally their 'brothers in arms' to organize for a fellow Vietnam combat veteran, John Kerry.

"We are the vets that know Bush best, that is why we are supporting John Kerry for President. We are building a strong organization here in Texas," said Rick Bolanos co-chair of the Texas Veterans for Kerry.

The Bolanos Brothers have organized veterans across Texas for Kerry, they have a database of over 94,000 veterans and are launching a website: www.veteransforamerica.com.

"The veterans of Texas are ready to fight to put John Kerry in the White House. We are tired of Bush's broken promises to America's veterans."

Max Cleland has been leading Kerry's 'Band of Brothers' veterans caravans
around the country Cleland and others are reaching out to veterans and veterans organizations from New Hampshire to the Lone Star State.

"This is about keeping the faith with our brothers. George Bush is slashing VA
services to our nation's heroes in the middle of a shooting war." This week
Kerry's grassroots veterans operations have held vet outreach efforts and events in Missouri, Alabama and Texas.

Veterans desperately in need of care across the country are disappointed in
Bush's recent announcement to scale back and close eleven hospitals.

Major General Alfredo Valenzuela, who will be endorsing Kerry at the event
was formerly a Bush supporter in 2000 and has decided to support Kerry
since the Bush administration is failing to keep the faith with America's
veterans.

"Our veterans' health care shouldn't depend on the yearly whims of budget
cutters," John Kerry said. "When I am president, we will make the funding
for veterans health care mandatory."

America's veterans are tired of broken promises and are working to make sure
a veteran's veteran - John Kerry - is elected President. In Texas, and in fifty states, Veterans for Kerry are spreading the word about John Kerry's plan to launch mandatory funding for the VA and eliminate the disabled veterans tax - veterans are making vet-to-vet calls, organizing veterans' caravans and launching websites to spread the word about John Kerry's plan to demand mandatory funding for the VA and eliminate the disabled veterans tax.

######### End ########

Veterans of America you are being shortchanged.

What is the price of the sacrifices you have made for this the greatest nation on the face of this earth. President Bush believes that the price is nothing. As a matter of fact his 2005 proposed budget shortchanges our patriots in the most despicable manner possible. This administration is:

* Reducing the number of workers handling veterans claims by 829 employees
* Severely under funding health care
* Has increased the veteran, their families and spouses co-pay for
prescriptions
* Wants to charge a $250.00 annual user fee for veterans who have a
higher income
* Is shifting the burden of funding the veterans health care to our brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to serve our nation patriotically
* Increasing pharmacy co-pays from $7.00 to $15.00
* Forcing veterans to wait longer for appointments some veterans will be denied care althogether
* Closing down seven veterans hospitals at a time when veterans desperately need these facilities (IN RESPONSE TO GRASSROOTS PRESSURE FROM VETERANS, AND DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAS BACKED OFF ON THIS IDEA TO FROM SEVEN TO THREE HOSPITALS - ONE IS ONE TOO MANY DURING WARTIME)
* Trying to pass a bill that would prohibit Veterans Preference for employment.
* Wants to reduce our fighting patriots combat pay ..that's right this
administration thinks our brothers and sisters should DIE FOR LESS.
* Is trying to pass a bill that reduces a disabled veterans compensable
benefits by 10%

This abhorrent, disdainful, disregard for our patriots must STOP!

Funding for our veterans should not be "discretionary" it should be "mandatory"

The fact is that this administration is shortchanging our veterans and not
showing them the loyalty and fidelity that they deserve. The same loyalty
and fidelity that our patriots showed our nation. This is disgraceful.

You can stop this! Join our American veterans to elect Senator John Kerry
to the Presidency of the United States. He is a true veteran who passionately
loves this nation and honors our patriots.

######## End ########

(Whiskey For Our Men & Ladies (Veterans) and Beer For Our Horses (HMMVVV'S))
Fight the Evil Forces in the US Government for not funding "ALL" Veterans
Issues, Vote 2004.

We've donated to the DAV,and VFW for many, many years. When we heard this tale we sent emails, and letters and told them if this story was true,we would never again donate one thin dime. They denied it.

Kerry should concentrate his propaganda efforts where they might do some good. I am happy to say he can forget TEXAS.

The Liberal news was bragging about Kerry's trip to KY.,and what a great reception he had at the airport, how "the vets" vowed to support his Viet Nam record to the death. Well, I subscribe to the C.J. read it almost every day.
Guess what? The big "turnout " was around 500 people! ( you can find that many wandering around the airport, anytime.) Razz

The " vets" were 2 men, that he wags around with him wherever he goes ! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

With all these "intelligent" people bashing Kerry, no one has answered the question.

Why all these cuts to VA benefits during a shooting war? Where is all the support?

Here are the FACTS again. There is no spin here:

This administration is:

* Reducing the number of workers handling veterans claims by 829 employees
* Severely under funding health care
* Has increased the veteran, their families and spouses co-pay for
prescriptions
* Wants to charge a $250.00 annual user fee for veterans who have a
higher income
* Is shifting the burden of funding the veterans health care to our brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to serve our nation patriotically
* Increasing pharmacy co-pays from $7.00 to $15.00
* Forcing veterans to wait longer for appointments some veterans will be denied care althogether

Here's a question for you, How many of Americas ennemy's do you think would preffer Bush as president to Kerry.

Probably a lot of countries would prefer Kerry while Bush would best fit bin Laden and such terrorist leaders agenda in cooperating so well to stir up hatred of America.
Yup - were I bin Laden I would let US citizens know that Kerry had my support.
