If John Kerry ventured into Cambodia on Christmas eve in 1968 and not one of his crewmates can recall this event, who exactly was his crew on that venture and who ordered Kerry into Cambodia?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If Kerry did not inheirit his own boat until 25 Jan 1969 when Ted Peck was injured how could he even comand such a mission at that time?

Yhose pesky inquiring minds again...

in 1968 Kerry was on the 44 boa, it was later that he was on the 94 boat and earned his last 2 PH, Silver and Bronze stars.

His crew at that time deny that they were in Cambodia.

And, Nixon was not President then, and Nixon did not give the speech about "No Americans in Cambodia", until Nov. 1971.

Kerry's newst version as given yesterday by Tad Devine is well Kerry was shot at three times that day and that is three times more than George Bush was shot at. And then he says maybe Kerry was confused by the fog of war.

And the answer should be, "Well George W. Bush has 3 years experience as POTUS, and that's 3 more years than Kerry."

...but I digress.

WRONG

Nixon's speech was in December of 1969, he signed the order along with a press conference to launch a full scale attack in Cambodia on April 30, 1970. By 1971 we had been openly in Cambodia for a year and a half.

The reall point is that when Kerry claims he was in Cambodia (or claimed, since he has changed the story 4 times), Nixon wasn't the President, and Nixon had not yet had a press conference concerning Vietnam or Cambodia.

Other than the facts that none of his crewmembers seem to recall anything about it, and Nixon wasn't president yet, how does the rest of his story sound to you guys? Laughing

The one that I actually loved was an interview with one of the people that was in charge of special ops in Vietnam and Cambodia. He stated that special ops that were sent into Cambodia were normally dropped in by helicopter. He also stated that the last thing they would use is a boat as large and noisey as a Swift.

John O'Neill, pretty well put the nail in the coffin on that "War Story" of Kerrys yesterday. In his appearance with Podesta on G. Stephanopolis's Show, he made it abundantly clear that Kerry did not and was no where near Cambodia that day.
It has also been pointed out that other than the fact he was not there, that Nixon was not the President, but that the Khmer Rouge he claims were shooting at him did not even exsist yet.

I believe I heard that Kerry's seared memory contained something to the effect that Cambodians were celebrating Christmas. Doesn't that inject some doubt into the argument that it was "later" or "some other time" or even approximately?

I find it fascinating that an Army captain could order a Navy LT anywhere.

Got a reference for that order by any chance?

sarcasm
In the documentary movie 'Apocalpse Now',
Army Captain Willard is transported up the Nung river.
An Army Captain outranks a Navy LTjg.
(or something like that)

Ah. That's the one with the Flight of the Valkyries and the smell of napalm in the morning smelling like victory, right?

I wonder if Kerry ever waterskiied behind his Swift? In between firefights, I mean.

Kerry needs to tell us what really happened at the bridge.
With all the tracers, and the Tet-Christmas fireworks,
very confusing.

These are questions I'd like to see someone ask Kerry pointedly.
