Democrat VP Candidate, Senator John Edwards, demanded that President Bush call on SBVT to pull its ads against his running-mate, Senator John Kerry. In the AP article (cited elsewhere, but for the record, it is: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040822/D84KIAL00.html), the response noted is that "The White House and Bush's campaign note that Kerry has benefited from more than $62 million worth of similar advertising against the president." In fact, there are two very good reasons that George Bush cannot, and must not do that.
1. As Rush Limbaugh pointed out today, if George Bush were to ask SBVT to pull their ads, and if they complied with that request, that would amount to collusion between a 527 non-partisan organization and an official campaign organization, which would be illegal. Bush, and SBVT would be openning themselves up to lawsuits (and who doubts that would happen?) by Democrat operatives.
2. Just about everybody I've heard on the subject also point out that, if George Bush were to call on SBVT to pull their ads, as the chief legal officer in the Federal Government, would amount to official censorship. I thought that was something that we were all against, especially the Democrats. Perhaps I was wrong.
This is all of a pattern, and I thank God for it being exposed. The pattern is clearly one of Democrat leaders exposed as frauds, making things up where it serves their purposes, and abusing power to silence the opposition. These are the most corrupt political whores I've ever seen, and to think it happens in my beloved United States!
I, for one, want the SBVT to expand their ad campaign. It is obviously working, and Kerry is melting down! Thank God for SBVT! _________________ Richard Stauch

Obviously, assuming that the Democrats have read the U.S. Constitution, they take it lightly.
First, they want to take away our right to keep and bear arms, then...
Second, they want to impose censorship by taking away our freedom to speak and petition the government.
Not as long as I have a vote! |
