Where were you for that coward, William the Impeached's military record? Or algore serving a couple of months with bodyguards while his father was running for re-election, and coming home early (happens a lot for those with political ambitions) when his father lost?

Personally, those who never served don't have the right to open their piehole about anyone's service.
Yes, I did serve my country. I enlisted at 17. |
One of my favorite things on that site of the link you provide is "The Clinton Body Count" Which is addressed here in some detail:

toast: National Guardsmen are dying in service to their country right now. Bush got an honorable discharge for honorable service. I spent 19 months in 'Nam, and I don't hold it against him. You're nothing but slime for denigrating ANY service to our country. Kerry, on the other hand is a traitor, lying slanderer and has no honor; you seem to be right up his alley, so of course you should vote for him - you and him deserve each other! Thatisall ......
P.s. I honestly believe Bush will win in a landslide. You heard it here first! _________________ Walt Jones (USMC, '65 - '69) It says much about the person who defends a man with no honor. |

"These were not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."
"....at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."
"...we feel because of what threatens this country, not the reds, but the crimes which we are committing that threaten it,...."
"...to attempt to justify the loss of one American life in Vietnam, Cambodia or Laos by linking such loss to the preservation of freedom, which those misfits supposedly abuse, is to us the height of criminal hypocrisy, and it is that kind of hypocrisy which we feel has torn this country apart..."
"...We fought using weapons against "oriental human beings." We fought using weapons against those people which I do not believe this country would dream of using were we fighting in the European theater..."
"...racism which is rampant in the military, and so many other questions such as the use of weapons; the hypocrisy in our taking umbrage at the Geneva Conventions and using that as justification for a continuation of this war when we are more guilty than any other body of violations of those Geneva Conventions; in the use of free fire zones, harassment interdiction fire, search and destroy missions, the bombings, the torture of prisoners, all accepted policy by many units in South Vietnam..."
"These are the commanders who have deserted their troops. And there is no more serious crime in the laws of war. The Army says they never leave their wounded. The marines say they never even leave their dead. These men have left all the casualties and retreated behind a pious shield of public rectitude."
"..when thirty years from now our brothers go down the street without a leg, without an arm, or a face, and small boys ask why, we will be able to say "Vietnam" and not mean a desert, not a filthy obscene memory, .." (failing to mention that thirty odd years later, personal exploits would be declared heroism for political opportunism)

Hey, toast - Come to think of it, I don't believe your Dad was in 'Nam; if he was, let's have some details. Personally I think you're just an ignorant Kerry hack with a poorly constructed legend. I should have thrown in response of Snopes about the slander your slander site presented about "couple months"
http://www.snopes.com/military/goreviet.htm
Silly oversight on my part to not post what takes the steam out of the specific bs you presented.
That might be a fun site though. If I have time later I might check to see just how much of the crap is addressed at www.snopes.com

The Guard is only service is you serve your ENTIRE time. Even then, it is a second class of service, not even close to the kind that Vietnam veterans performed for us.
Bush has not supported out troops in Iraq at all. Those National Guardsmen who thought "one weekend a month and 2 weeks a year" was the requirement are dying because Bush's ego won't allow him to change the course. His photo-op visit around the holidays and his cowboy aircraft carrier landing stunt were disgracefull.
He is trying to do this half-assed, with poorly paid and ill-equiped troops, private security firms getting paid millions, and not enough troops to do the job correctly. His ego and lies about WMD and 9/11 ties got these kids into Iraq, and his ego will continue to get them killed unless he listens to EXPERIENCED senior military officials instead of vacationing at his ranch.
It's a damn shame. |

Hey Walt, my Dad did serve in Vietnam. Drafted. Not some fortunate son like Bush & Cheney.
I don't care if you believe me or not. I am proud of my Dad. His details are his business, and if he wants to share them with a bunch of "internet tough guys", he will. |

toast wrote: | I am highly suspicious of the website for a number of reasons:
1. Why was the domain just created on April 14, 2004? If you are for the "truth", why have you only come out since Kerry has become a candidate?
2. Why is the site lead by veteran corporate media consultant and Texas Republican activist Merrie Spaeth, who is listed as the group's media contact; eternal Kerry antagonist and Dallas attorney John E. O'Neill, law partner of Spaeth's late husband, Tex Lezar; and retired Rear Adm. Roy Hoffman, a cigar-chomping former Vietnam commander once described as "the classic body-count guy" who "wanted hooches destroyed and people killed."?
3. It would seem to me that not many people know of the history and valuable contributions of the Swift Boats and the brave veterans that served on them. Other than the Hollywood version through Apocalypse Now, many people have not even seen one. Yet many people on this board are angry at Kerry, who is giving these brave veterans some overdue media attention.
4. Many people on this board would rather support a "fortunate son" who can't account for all his time while in the Boy Scouts errr Air National Guard, over the first Vietnam veteran to win a major party nomination.
5. Lastly, there are a lot of internet heroes hiding anonymously behind screen names. While sitting at home at your computer watching Halliburton stock reports, it is easy to throw stones.
If you are truly a Vietnam vet, like my Dad, then I have all the respect in the world for you.
If you are using this board to promote the right wing religiously fanatical ideals of the Republican Party, then have your fun while it lasts. Bush's days are numbered. |
Liberals/leftists are "suspicious" of any tool that allows freedom of speech uncensored by them, even a website that lets them pose such questions in the first place!
Toast, understand that we don't feel liberals/leftists are necessarily evil. It's just that their weakness, especially on foreign affairs, and their lack of understanding of the nature of evil in the world and how to deal with it, is putting the U.S. at particularly high risk at a very, very bad time in history.
If you are "suspicious" of this website, start your own damn site. Why don't you do that? |

Craig, that link to urban myths about Clinton's "body count" was GREAT! I've just gotta post it again:
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/clinton.htm
My big question is how many murders they're going to accuse Kerry of before he finishes both his terms as president. Any guesses? |

Your comment about the Carrier landing was uncalled for. I will defend to my dying day the President landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln. I know some of the sailor's aboard that Carrier, my son use to serve on that Carrier before changing duty stations. He was on board the USS Abraham Lincoln when they got word they were turning around. I know several mom's who's kids are serving on that ship. That was a very proud moment for many on board. They had a job to do and they did it well. It was a real morale booster after a long hard deployment. Your comment and the ridicule by Democrats over that issue is what is disgraceful. I'll be damned if I let anyone put down the President for doing the right thing in commending the sailor's aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. They deserved a Hero's Welcome Home including a visit with the President!!! |

There were a number of links that looked familiar that I knew of bogus things going around.
My super Xian super right wing sent me that Clinton one with a virus attached. "Urgent! Send it everyone you know!"
The thing about Gore - Hillary - Seems there is another that looked familiar. I was going to get back to it and check on some others for amusement - didn't get around to it though. - forget the name/link to another urban legends site - maybe is urbanlegends.com ??
Yea - that's it - says they are undergoing extensive redesign for next few days. |
