I have a major problem with the word "RESCUED". The word implies emminent danger of loosing one's life. That was not the case. At most kerry extracted a Rassman from the water. Where's the heroics in that?
Second problem...three boats stayed...only #94 bugged out...Where's the courage in that?
I just love how some people GUSH and BLUSH thinking, wishing that kerry was an Audey Murphy instead of a Gomer Pyle. _________________ kerry returned to the United States on July 22, 1971, held a press conference publicly calling on President Nixon... for the surrender of the United States to North Vietnam. |

I think "rescued" is in Rassman's opinion. There's no doubt that Kerry is a "chicken" in fleeing the scene, and upon returning, plucked out of the water. Kerry is definitely not a USA patriot. RSH |

He rescued him if he was almost drowning. Rassmann might not be a good swimmer. To Rassmann, it's very possible that Kerry saved his life, perhaps 100% true, even. I've almost drown myself, it's terrifying once you start to panic. See how Rassmann reacted after he grabbed the cargo net? That's panic, my friend, he was a Special Forces troop and knew how to climb a cargo net. |

Rassman contends he was blown off the boat by a mine.
Kerry said he fell off when Kerry accelerated to flee the area. _________________ "If he believes his 1971 indictment of his country and his fellow veterans was true, then he couldn't possibly be proud of his Vietnam service." |

If Rassman was such a bad swimmer I doubt if he'd been in SF.
Secondly if Rassman was constantly swimming to the bottom of Bay Hap...then he must know basic swimming techniques.
As for kerry helping him up the net...??? Why was it kerry who had to come out of the pilot house...and not one of the 5...count them...5 fellow crew members doing the assist?

Don't forget the MSF that was embarked from Cui Nuoc (edited for spelling), or at least the Nung soldier supposedly going back with the guy in the body bag. The story gets bigger and bigger everytime Kerry tells it

Listening to Steve Gardner today on Larry Elder explain how Rassman in the water would hear a lot of fire but be unable to tell where it was coming from, but it would be truly frightening. Very plausible explanation for Rassman's story (well, most of it) without calling Rassman an exaggerator. The biggest holes in the whole story are the ones that aren't in any of the boats. I guess those VC's had really bad aim. _________________ "What our enemies have begun, we will finish,"

Something's still not right.
Rassman said that there were no boats visible when he surfaced.
This sounds like it was meant to toe the Kerry story, that all five boats fled, which was told again at the DNC but then expired shortly afterward. that leaves Rassman with some 'splainin' to do.
Thing is, Kerry has all his crewmates locked up. That alone makes me believe that they on their own would not be able to withstand the questions without spillling the beans. |

Can you give an address of the Larry Elder comments on Steve Gardner's presentation? I've got about 70 readers, and they'd to know where they can see the actual conversation. thanks RSH |
