I've never before heard of this blogger, but Instapundit linked to him, and with very good reason. It is long, but one of the most insightful and calm ruminations on Kerry and the whole national conversation re: Vietnam that I've encountered:

Quite a lengthy essay, but worth it, if you stay with it long enough. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Maybe America should do what Jews do. Use Kerry as a scapegoat. Put all the sins of the anti-war protesters on John Kerry's shoulders. Kick him in the ass and with his disappearance from the political scene, also the hatred between the pro- and anti- Vietnam War supporters and the veterans should disappear. |

If you have not read the above essay, please do. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I wish I could express my thoughts as well. _________________ Talking point #1: Sign 180

Kerry admitted he lied three times already by changing his stories:
1) "Christmas in Cambodia" (four changes to Kerry's story already)
2) "The other boats fled, I went back alone" (Sandusky, Kerry's
pilot, outed him on this one Thursday (8/19/04) by EXPLAINING
WHY Kerry's boat left while the others were working to save the 3-boat)
3) 08/24/2004 After checking Kerry's bio and journal
Kerry's campaign admits "...indeed possible that John
Kerry's first Purple Heart commendation was the result
of an, unintentional, self-inflicted wound."
Be careful with the last one as is say, "...indeed possible..."

Powerful. Very well written and thought out. He poses questions to his own line of reason the rebuts them in great detail with logic. _________________ "An activist is the person who cleans up the water, not the one claiming its dirty."

After reading the article, I conclude the the "truce" that has existed for the past 30 years regarding the Vietnam War is but a component of "Political Correctness." It is like putting salve on a wound that will not heal.
And so years ago, wearied by their own arguments as much as by the arguments of their antagonists, sensible majorities of both the supporters and the opponents of the Vietnam war yielded to an unwritten domestic truce composed of two principles:
(1) Those who participated in the war, with the exception of anyone at or above the rank of general officer, are entitled to public honor for their service.
(2) Those who actively opposed the war, with the exception of the most extreme Jane Fonda-types, are not to be branded as cowards or traitors to their country.
The way to heal the wounds is to abandon the truce and fight the battle to its end.
