<<If Cleland were to meet any SBVT at the ranch they'd claim proof of corroboration and file another FEC complaint.>>
Cleland's plane wouldn't land directly in Crawford, would it? The Cleland stunt probably will begin where his plane lands, and that letter (which should be forwarded to all media outlets in advance) could be handed to him there.
In the alternative, have a POW try to deliver this letter directly to Kerry. |

Once again Kerry wants to have it both ways. It's actually funny that they have their little hall pass going to Crawford on the same day that the Liberals announce they have 15 more commercials. These people are acting like their hand isn't stuck in the cookie jar!!!!!!! |

How ironic that Kerry is practically on his hands and knees pleading with George Bush to shut down the SwiftVets that he should send Max Cleland to do his bidding. Unfortunately it paints a very tacky mental image of the lengths that Kerry will go to avoid the truth of his past. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

Doesn't this remind you of the spoiled kid at school who had his mother go to the Principal to make the other kids "stop calling him names"?
What would happen if he was President and America was attacked? Go to the terrorists and ask them to stop being so mean? |

According to Fox News the Cleland/Rassman Mission to Crawford did not go too well. They were handed a letter in response to Kerrys basicaly stating that Kerry brought all this on himself and that he should not be crying about the attention he does not want, when it is he who has brought up the entire Vietnam issue. It stated he should not being trying to force the President to stop or condemn the SBVFT, as they raised legitimate questions, especialy concerning Kerrys activities Post-Vietnam. _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |

Exactly! That is why the SBVT's are doing this. To expose JFnK's character not to demean his service. _________________ This space for rent! |

Also bear in mind what our mission is. Until now Kerry has gotten a free pass on his mendacity. No more. Even if the only thing we do is generate a seed of doubt in the minds of the swing voters, we will have done our job. It doesn't matter if we are smeared through the mud...just as long as Kerry is NOT elected. _________________ -Polaris

Kerry has resorted to a real life horse and pony show. He wants sympathy, has he even a clue the we deserve sympathy. We have to listen to a traitor disgrace everything we have fought for, and he rolls Max out! I have to say I'm absolutely outraged _________________ NEVER RELENT WHEN THE ENEMY IS ON THE RUN!

According to Fox News, Cleland and Rassmann were greeted by a letter from seven veterans, including three Congressmen and two Vietnam veterans, saying that Kerry brought this on himself:
per Fox:
The letter from the president's supporters says Kerry can not claim to be a war hero while also claiming that he and his crewmates committed atrocities against the Vietnamese people. They also caution him against trying to silence his critics.
Quote from letter:
"You can't have it both ways. You can't build your convention and much of your campaign around your service in Vietnam, and then try to say that only those veterans who agree with you have a right to speak up. There is no double standard for our right to free speech. We all earned it."
Here is the Internet site: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,130010,00.html
Maybe President Bush himself can't weigh in on this issue, because he didn't serve in Vietnam, but Republican veterans do assert their First Amendment rights! _________________ The traitor will crater! |

I hope the letter given to Cleland is read ALOUD so it can be a soundbite on the news; just giving copies to the press doesn't mean they will use them. |

Cleland is on the tube now with his "Bush is behind these attacks" soap box for the press. BARF!

IMO, this has nothing to do with ACTUALLY stopping the ads. It is designed to paint GWB as the orchestrator of negative campaign tactics.
Everytime they get GWB to denounce these 527's, it gives the appearance that he really does have some say in the matter, and that he is the big bad wolf!
It all boils down to the same old dimwit refrain, BLAME BUSH, Blah Blah Blah!
Why? Simply, because the tactic works on weak-minded people. _________________ Semper-Fi |

Cable Networks saying Bush has a letter to give back to them. Perhaps asking why Kerry has not corrected the record he gave in 1971.
The Kerry letter was not signed by Republican Senator John McCain, a fellow Vietnam veteran who has urged Bush to condemn the ads. McCain was scheduled to campaign next week with Bush before the Republican convention.
Next act coming up shortly |
What a pathetic political stunt.
Knock Knock!
Who's there?
Max Cleland and Jim Rassman.
Max Cleland and Jim Rassman who?
Max Cleland and Jim Rassman, mad you are letting SwiftVets insult our Daddy. Boo Hoo.
(Well, my poetry is pretty pathetic too, but...at least I admit it!)
In the letter to Bush, this quote:
"Our pain from seeing these slanderous attacks stems from something much more fundamental, that if one veteran's record is called into question, the service of all American veterans is questioned."
HOW PATHETICALLY WRONG AND HOW TRANSPARENTLY LEFTIST.
"Our pain" - the Leftist's weepy code phrase! Cut me a break.
SwiftVet friends, this represents a new low in the Democrat's beliefs in the gullibility and brainlessness of the American people.
It's insulting!
It's like saying that by impugning the reputation of Benedict Arnold, we impugn the reputation of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Or, is it an example of:
Substituting Famous Quotes for Common Sense?
Example: Remember, "All good things come to those who wait." So don't bother looking for a job.
--- Hmm. On final consideration, what I believe the Kerry camp has done is to invent a "famous-sounding" quote that defies common sense!

Cleland says all veterans should have free speech - esp. those that bled on the battlefield....I guess this means all EXCEPT the SWIFT BOAT VETS!
