Someone should please contact the Kerry Spot at NRO and explain his confusion on this issue: http://nationalreview.com/kerry/kerryspot.asp
He clearly does not understand that O'Neill was patrolling on the opposite side of the country than Kerry was, and during a later tour of duty.

I've sent him this email to correct him
Jim,
You’re missing the Point on O’Neill in Cambodia. He’s talking about patrolling on "Bernique’s Creek" near Ha Tien. That's on an entirely different river system and in different area of operations from where Kerry claimed to have entered Cambodia on the Mekong river. In fact you can’t even get from Ha Tien by boat to SA Dec without an ocean passage around the tip of South Vietnam
O’Neill was never in Cambodia on "Bernique’s Creek" because it never enters Cambodia. It does however come within about 50 yards of the border and that’s what O’Neill was talking about.
Here’s a link of the Cosdiv 11 AOR showing Ha Tien and the Creek with runs along the border. http://www.rjsmith.com/IV_Corps_An_Thoi_01.html

Thanks Tom. I lack the competence to address these issues -- and am not a vet of any sort -- but was sure many vets here could set the matter straight. _________________ --Mona-- |
