Letter to John Kerry
Thats why so many veterans are troubled by your vote AGAINST funding for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, after you voted FOR sending them into battle. And thats why we are so concerned about the comments you made AFTER you came home from Vietnam. You accused your fellow veterans of terrible atrocities – and, to this day, you have never apologized. Even last night, you claimed to be proud of your post-war condemnation of our actions.
We are proud of our service in Vietnam. We served honorably in Vietnam and we were deeply hurt and offended by your comments when you came home.
You cant have it both ways. You cannot build your convention and much of your campaign around your service in Vietnam, and then try to say that only those veterans who agree with you have a right to speak up. There is no double standard for our right to free speech. We all earned it.
You said in 1992 we do not need to divide America over who served and how. Yet you and your surrogates continue to criticize President Bush for his service as a fighter pilot in the National Guard. _________________ Pierre Legrand

That Letter is from others not President Bush. I also had mistaken it for a Direct Response by the President, it is a letter signed by a group of Senators amd congressman in response to Kerrys.
Either way it was well written and states the facts clearly! "If you can not play with the Big Dogs, Stay on the Porch" or "If you want to be elected based on your Service Record, be ready for some scrutiny" _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |

Didn't Bush call an end to all 527 spending? How does defending the swifties help him now? Definately not from Bush, because then he would be 'flip flopin', though if its from Senators, then its really sticking it to kerry... nice _________________ "I already don't miss it," he said of Washington. Asked to elaborate, he replied: "You know that great feeling you get when you stop banging your head against a wall?" |

Let's make this very clear - the President did not send this letter.
Near as I can tell, it was a grassroots response to a grassroots effort.
