Hi,
This came out a few minutes ago:
Swift Boat Writer Lied on Cambodia Claim
By ELIZABETH WOLFE, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - The chief critic of John Kerry (news - web sites)'s military record told President Nixon in 1971 that he had been in Cambodia in a swift boat during the Vietnam War — a claim at odds with his recent statements that he was not.
"I was in Cambodia, sir. I worked along the border," said John E. O'Neill in a conversation that was taped by the former president's secret recording system. The tape is stored at the National Archives in College Park, Md.
In an interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday, O'Neill did not dispute what he said to Nixon, but insisted he was never actually in Cambodia.
"I think I made it very clear that I was on the border, which is exactly where I was for three months. I was about 100 yards from Cambodia," O'Neill said in clarifying the June 16, 1971, conversation with Nixon."

The headline is just another example of the MSM's head up their a**.
This reporter is clueless, but then most of them are.

The sad part is, a friend e-mailed me with "Well, I wanted to believe him [O'Neill], but he has a credibilty problem now."
Of course I explained the reality of what was said (and what was left out of the story which ran everywhere).
My buddy finally got it after I directed him to a few threads here (and was FUMING that he was tricked so easily... "HOW CAN THEY DO THAT?!?")
I fear the majority of folks buy any headline that gets shouted out by the MSM without digging deeper...
I feel it's OUR jobs to get all those corrections out... and little by little, we are.

Actually, AP got it right as far as they're concerned. |

When I saw those headlines I thought it was too convenient, I mean come on I knew Kerry couldn’t be that lucky to come up with something that was exactly the same thing he has lied about all this time.
I would hope that most would see that, or at least see how desperate Kerry is getting. _________________ Remember United Flight 93, "Are you guys ready? Let's roll."

wait, O'Neill had to "clarify"?
was it a nuanced statement he made originally?
or was it all taken out of context? |

O'Neills statement was taken totally out of context and when challenged last night on Hannity and Colmes, he told Alan to read the next sentence where he said he was patrolling alongside of the Cambodian border.
O'Neill was there later than Kerry and on a different river, as well. They'll make a fuss, but when looked at with the rest of his words, it falls apart. _________________ Clark County Conservative |
