Ever ready to take political obtuseness to unprecented levels, Democratic hacks are sounding alarms over the connection between the Bush campaign and the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT).
Ben Ginsberg, lawyer for both SBVT and the Bush campaign has resigned citing the need to quell the controversy. This, according to the sharp minds in the Kerry campaign, is evidence of connection and collaboration. No need to mention the various lawyers representing both the Kerry campaign and MoveOn.org. Such a reference "isn't even comparable" according to Jano Cabrera, DNC spokesman.
But this "isn't even comparable" to the same treacherous leftist hacks that spent the better part of last year trying to convince the American people that there were "no connections" between Hussein and Al Qaida. Terrorists camps in Northern Iraq. No connection! Al Zawaqari fleeing to Iraq. No connection! OBL audio tapes imploring Muslims to fight in Iraq. No connection! 9/11 commission citing connections. No connections!
What else needs to be said about a party so craven, so unprincipled that it will do anything to gain power even if means slandering decorated Vietnam Veterans or undermining America's Commander in Chief in a time of great peril. |

Stewart M. Powell of Hearst had an unbelievable spin on the Ginsberg story, including the quote: "Ginsberg claimed" that DNC lawyers were also serving as 527 legal advisers. Here's the email I sent him:
---
Regarding the Bush lawyer stepping down because he advised the
Swiftboat Veterans:
Which is it? Are you simply lazy or just intellectually dishonest?
This statement has been widely publicized elsewhere: "...Joe Sandler,
a lawyer for the DNC and a group running anti-Bush ads, MoveOn.org,
said there is nothing wrong with serving in both roles at once..."
There are multiple attorneys working both for the Democratic National
Committee and 527s like MoveOn.
Get your act together, young man, this kind of reporting is a discredit both to you and your company.
