I don't think this is as effective an ad as the other two either.
However, if they are using it as a stepping stone (or building block) to build up a stronger case.....then it will be effective in the long run.
The one way it is effective is that although Kerry has backed off of the "Christmas in Cambodia" story.....he has changed positions several times......the latest being that he was in Cambodia (probably in January) on a secret, secret mission (like anyone believes that anyway).
What the ad does.....is challenge the latest storyline Kerry is standing by.
The discussion of that story will continue.... more doubts established, etc.
And, as the previous poster mentioned......it puts Gardner back in the light as "being on Kerry's boat"
I have a feeling these Swiftees have a "master plan" and that it is unfolding brilliantly as planned.....setting the stage for the next piece of truth!
Also, how can Kerry run an ad to debunk this? If he does, he will have to establish documents to show he was in Cambodia....and, he can't do that unless he actually was in Cambodia. |

............
I think it is compelling when one considers that Kerry was on the Senate floor stating that the memory of his visit to Cambodia on Christmas Eve '68 was SEARED - SEARED into his memory.
Kerry openly and knowingly LIED not only TO Congress - he lied right there on the Senate floor.
To me, that's plenty compelling.
And remember, it costs a great deal of money for these ads - so the length of them is critical; they can only say so much in 15 or 30 seconds.
I like the ad.
To anyone who's paying attention, it's a subtle as a frozen mackerel to the side of the head.

Great ad again.
I kind of agree that if it started with the Kerry testimony about being "seared...seared"...before Gardner spoke it might tie it together better for those not paying enough attention, then again those people are probably still not paying attention enough yet.
So it's going to be like Christmas in October, huh?

Won't MSM spin O'Neil's taped remarks to Nixon to try to defuse this ad? I mean, it seems to me that many folks will be oinking with delite at CNN over O'Neil's "confession" that he was in Cambodia. After (bogusly) concluding that such wast he case, then they'll attack this ad.

This ad had to be made. The public is confused by all the medals stories, and the media will always spin in the Dems favor. This ad can not be refuted. I think Kerry is hiding from the media because his camp has been able to come up with a good story about Cambodia.
Next ad should hit Kerry on the 180. Another 30 sec simple ad.
And the Republicans need to stand up to Max Cleland! Lying POS. |

I agree! I have the greatest admiration and respect for these guys, and have no doubt that they are carefully executing what will ultimately prove to be a very successful plan! |

Concur with others stating that it is simple and to the point. I am especially glad to see it placed before this Sunday's morning shows. There should be a good amount of comments - good and bad - tomorrow that will provide more ammo for Sunday. This is going to get even better! _________________ "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" - General Douglas MacArthur |

Good ad. Simple, sweet, and from the looks of it, unrefutable.
It makes Kerry eat the Cambodia lie. Want some ketchup with that, Senator? _________________ Share the passion: http://www.MLSnet.com |

TRANSCRIPT:
Steve Gardner, Foregunner, PCF44:
"I spent more time on John Kerry's boat than any other crewmember. John Kerry hasn't been honest - he has been deceitful. John Kerry claims that he spent Christmas, in 1968, in Cambodia. And that is catagorically a lie. Not in December. Not in January. We were never in Cambodia on a secret mission. Ever." _________________ Share the passion: http://www.MLSnet.com |

As a junior officer, Kerry broke it off in a GMG2 he thought would never be able to get even with an elite Yalie Bonesman. Now he knows better. QED. |
