I missed Vietnam by a couple of years, but did get heckled in Boston's Harvard Square in 1976 (in uniform while at USNA). A bunch of women were shouting that we were "Baby Killers". When one of the "protestors" asked "How can you kill babies"? One of the other midshipman said, "Well, you aim alittle lower and lead alittle less". You should have seen the look on their faces, it was priceless ...
Yes I know its not PC, but its like the "Why do you beat your wife question" ... there is no safe answer ... _________________ JJC

I returned to graduatee school in the erly 1980s. one day while waiting for our Russian language class to start, it came out that I was a Vietnam Vet, pehaps because I've always had a "bad attitude" and never concealed something I'm proud of. Several of the students were very fascinated by meeting such a strange creature as an actual real live Vietnam vet.
One of the little bearded weenies asked me "Can I ask you something really personal? Did you ever...like...actually kill someone?"
I responded, "No I never had occasion to kill anybody. But that's not something I'm very proud of."
My answer got a big beatific smile from Beardie....and then it dawned on him what I'd actually said. His smile changed to shock. The look was priceless. And he left me alone after that. _________________ Hating John Kerry continuously since 1971.
