For years after he returned from his second tour in Vietnam my husband never talked about his service because people like John Kerry in his '71 Senate Foreign Relations fraudulent testimony put it out there for public consumption that Vietnam veterans were monsters, killers, waiting to unleash themselves on society. Not until Ronald Reagan made his speech in the '80s honoring Vietnam vets for what they did in Vietnam did my husband rightfully get his pride back. I think Reagan said you stopped communism on the Pacific Rim, and from my vantage point you did.
