If I may, I would like to provide a new perspective in the debate surrounding John Kerry and his presidential bid. I would however like to provide some background to my views and for that I beg your indulgence.

As WWII was drawing to a close, my mother was arrested and taken to a Communist prison camp where she spent 5 years as a guest of the Soviet Union. Her crime was being a German farm girl in Poland. The war was still raging and one day a shipment of captured German soldiers arrived. The badly wounded amongst them were separated, and those soldiers still able to walk and work were made to dig a ditch and when that task was completed, the Russians ordered the wounded to be thrown into the ditch and buried alive. Those who balked were shot. The screaming was terrible, and even as the soil was piled on, those boys desperately attempted to save themselves. The earth moved for what seemed like an eternity, but by morning all was still. Those German soldiers were between 12 and 15 years of age. For a teenage farm girl, this horror was almost too much to bear, nevertheless she survived to bear witness, but after her release in 1950, nobody was listening.

Fast forward to the 1960's when President Kennedy proclaimed to the world that the United States was willing to "..., pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, ..." so that Liberty and Freedom would prevail. To those who had experienced first hand, the brutality of Communist rule, U.S. involvement in Vietnam was a noble and just cause, and at the onset we did not think that the U.S would lose, and yet, that is precisely what happened. This conflict, in which so many young men gave their lives, was subverted from within, by men such as John Kerry, and this subversion continues even today. It seems that many still describe the Vietnam conflict as a confused mess with no purpose, but for those of us on the outside it was a case of a brutal ideology proclaiming victory over the only country capable of defending freedom in this world. This loss of nerve by the leaders of the free world would have tragic consequences.

Despite Kerry's assurances to the contrary, a bloodbath did ensue and upwards of a million people set sail in rickety boats in an attempt to escape the executions, gulags, and slave labour camps of the Workers Paradise of Vietnam. An unknown number lost their lives in the attempt. A further million people were murdered in Cambodia at the hands of the Khmer Rouge as Pol Pot sought to build a Utopia on this earth.

John Kerry and others of his ilk are morally responsible for contributing to this colossal tragedy. His lies to the Senate helped divert the United States from a costly but noble struggle against a murderous and vicious ideology. To think that the moral heir to Tokyo Rose and Lord Ha-Ha is now running for President is repugnant to those for whom freedom is a rare and precious commodity.

I am not an American and I did not fight in any war, but I am profoundly grateful to the United States of America for being a beacon of light in a very dark world.

Thanks. It is just a shame that a vast majority of our countrymen don't get it. Let me explain by giving you an example of something I just read in the papers here in the UK.

There was a recent court case in, I believe Wisconsin. There was this guy who was in his 50's or 60's who had recently purchased a Winnabago. Now he was driving along one day doing about 70 when he set his cruise control. After setting his cruise control, this individual gets up and proceeds to the rear of his vehicle to make himself a cup of coffee. Let's just say bad things happened after this brilliant move. Well, this individual proceeds to sue the company that makes Winnabagos because it wasn't spelled out in the owners manual that you couldn't do this. Guess what. Yeah, he won. Approximately 1.75 million. The moral of the story is, this is the electorate people. We have idiots that will vote for Kerry because they don't know any better than what they hear on the MSM.

I am afraid, very afraid.

It's also nice to hear that the US is not as universally hated overseas as many liberals would like us to believe and that Michael Moore is trying to permote.

AF --

Thank you for your well written post. Too bad so many of your fellow countrymen have fallen into the Hate America First camp.

And yes it is an abomination that Kerry would be running for POTUS when he does have the blood of millions on his hands.

There has been over the past 30 years or so an agenda by the left (lets call it what it is socialism) to dumb down and brainwash Americans. Weather people want to believe it or not the far left has taken over the majority of our education structure in this country,The news media,And print media. As well as one of our political parties. They have done this mostly stealthily but do not be mistaken they have done it, It is comparable to the way the Nazi party did it in Germany. People have been "dumbed down" to a point through our education system,They no longer award excellence they just bring the achievers down to everybody else's level(socialism at work) put there liberal/socialist ideology in there heads and drive it home through propaganda. I have on many occasions shown my children the difference between what they get taught in school and the truth much to the dismay of some of there teachers, Who by the way can not have a factual argument with me much to their dismay Laughing

Mr. AF,

An American is more the spirit of the heart than a location. YOU ARE AN AMERICAN!

Maybe he's an in the closet American?

Good post. I appreciate hearing what citizens of other countries think of us and that we aren't the monsters our leftstream media makes us out to be.

As far as I'm concerned, what you describe happening to your Mother is what the John Kerry's and Hanoi Janes would let happen in this country to any who don't agree with their leftist agenda. They were very active in undermining the morale of men fighting a war to ensure it was lost to the Communist. Their predicitons of minimal retaliations were proven wrong, to the detriment of millions of persons.

Today, there is a similar situation in the war on terror. Again, they and their willing accomplices in the leftstream media are willing to again undermine the safety and well-being of our military to further their leftist agenda.

We cannot allow that to happen again and waste hundreds or thousands of American lives again as well as many more innocent civilians murdered in retaliation for wanting and seeking freedom.

The other day Shawn Hanity did some "Man on the Street” interviews and out of the 4 or five people he talked to that supported Kerry, none could come up with anything that Kerry has done to improve this country. He even got most of them to say that Kerry’s running mate was named Stu Ped( stupid ). One guy said he was going to vote for Jim Kerney. I was busting a gut laughing but if you think about it, it is not funny how ignorant some people are in the country and most of them will be voting for Jim Kerney and Stu Ped, I mean John Kerry and John Edwards. A great part of the "Man on the Street” segment was when some of New York’s finest showed up and were 100% in support of W.

We won the War. Vietnam was just a battle that we lost after a hard hard fight and the Kerrites are a big part of why that we lost that that battle. Ours was a conflict with the Soviet Union and from Thuman to Regan we destroyed the Soviet Union and rebuild Europe in the process. The war though continues this time the sheep has a different cloak, the real war is between American Democracy and The Social Elite here in America. those that tell the masses how to live and what proper thinking is. Proper thinking you know is just another name for GOD. In this generation, in our country they come designed as the campions of the oppressed and brake us down in to the "haves" and the "have nots", the red and the blues the "help is on the way" crowd which means that whatever YOU do they want more of what you GOT to spend on what THEY feel is right. You become the slave you become marginal. EVERY HERO of the left is some social scientest politican, actor, writer or professor. They hate capitalism that is why they have no heros from that group and simply ignore the maganatude of what this mighty system provides worldwide. This War is a class war and is fought by a class that if THEY can not outperform and out produce YOU they simply will take what they want by the vote. PS to hell with the spelling

Arthur F., thank you for giving we Americans a lesson in history. I only wish your message could be proclaimed to the American electorate. My concern is for all Americans to understand the destruction of liberty John Kerry caused through out the world. His support of Hanoi against his own country and countrymen emboldened terrorists in all settings.
Mr. Kerry is a traitor and his actions caused consequences the world is still dealing with today.....

Wouldnt there being no logs of Kerry being treated by a doctor prove that his wounds were superficial and undeserving of a purple heart?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind words. Despite the leftist propaganda from the likes of CNN, et al. America does have a fair bit of support in other countries. Unfortunately, our own news media here in Canada, as in Europe is as left wing as the so called mainstream press of the U.S. and so we get a distorted picture of the level of anti-Americanism up here.

It's rather sad that a once great political party has sucumbed to the infantile fallacies of the left and that the best candidate they could find was a charlatan in the name of John Kerry.

Ya know guys and gals.

It's late and I'm half in the bag but why in hell do we play the game of calling communists the far left? Why do we call socialists the left? Why are we playing their game?

Socialists are socialists in the rest of the world.

Communists are communists in the rest of the world.

What is this leftist, Left, Leftwing, bovine excrement?

If Kerry quacks like a freaking duck why don't we call him a freaking duck?

Just questions!

and another thing....my last name is not McCarthy! Laughing Or Stalin! Laughing
