I am not sure if this story has legs or not. I saw this article link on Instapundit and it is very bad, if true. According to a story broken by CBS, a high level aide to the #3 man in the DOD is alleged to have been passing drafts of US foreign policy positions re: Iraq and Iran to pro-Israel lobbyists.The question is whether or not Israel was also able to shape our decision to invade Iraq and our hawkish stand to Iran because of this "mole." Ironically enough, the FBI stumbled across the pro-Israel mole in the DOD while they were investigating Chalabi and his relationship to Iran. Although Israel is an ally, no nation should surepticiously influence our decisions regarding foreign policy and when we commit troops to war. Charges are expected to be announced next week. Has anyone else heard about this case?
