John McCain is no fan of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Ad #1 but he seems to embrace the content of Ad #2 and #3. I hope that McCain and the Republicans begin to follow the lead of the SBVT and hammer John Kerry on his antiwar betrayal of the Vietnam Vet.

Quote:
Ahead of the opening gavel, McCain, R-Ariz., told CBS's "The Early Show" that television ads run against Kerry accusing the Democrat of lying about his military service in Vietnam were "dishonest and dishonorable." But, he added, "What John Kerry did after the war is very legitimate political discussion." Kerry was a leader of Vietnam veterans who opposed the war

The second ad exposes his betrayal of the Vietnam Vet. This is the most serious charge of all. To lie about the circumstances of his combat record renders him a fraud but his testimony before Congress and the world renders him a collaborator giving aid and comfort to the enemy. He cannot run from his past as antiwar activist. He is caught on tape.

I would have respected him if he would have been sooo outspoken about the MoveOn ads as well.

I think it's possible that a fair number of his constituants in Arizona called the past couple weeks and have been jerking him by the scruff of the neck and telling him to knock it off or he can be replaced. I hazaard a guess that it might also have been made clear that none of this would have even happened or been necessary if not for his pathetic seriously flawed train wreck of a piece of legislation CFR Law. In fact, I think I'll call right now and say something like that. Smile
