I just answered an e-mail to a fellow asking me how the Decca 202 radar set on Swift Boats was powered, something I haven't thought about for about 34 years.

My best recall at the moment was that Swift Boats had an Onan xxKW AC generator, and that the Decca 202 was powered off that.

I then pondered how the entire Swift Boat electronics suite was powered and further recall that the AN/VRC-46 (RT-524/VRC) tactical FM set was powered with DC from a DC power supply manufactured by Topaz Co. of Japan, and I reckon the Topaz was sourced to the main bus supplied by the Onan. Recomembering further still, I think the AN/URC-58 HF Radio was also powered by AC, the AN/PRC-25/77 tactical FM and AN/PRC-41 UHF Tactical Air radio by their own batteries. As for the PsyOps amp and the Raytheon "Holiday" Fathometer, I just don't have a memory clue as to how these were powered. The PCFs also carried a Loud Hailer, that just had to be battery operated.

I know there's some RDs, perhaps Terry Boone, et al, out there that read these forums, also maybe Ray Preston, EM from NSADet Qui Nhon. Anybody else out there remember?

If Kerry was such a " fine fellow" and he knew their was 5000 m

of hostile fire , he should have known that would take 200 to 250

VC's and their support,

WHY DID HE NOT USE THE RADIO AND CALL IN

REACTION FORCE OR AIR ????

ITS ALL NUTS

ps on the other hand his electrons could be the "quantum" types

particle one moment in time and wave the other.

could be what cause the "flip flop" he is a "quantum thing"
