Hillary will play along for the duration of the campaign, but the very last thing the Clintons want is for Mr. Reporting For Duty to win. If he wins she can't run for president until 2012 and she'll be too old then
Quote: | My money says they'll let Kerry go down Nov 2 and blame it on Bush's front groups' smears and lies NOT on the fact that Kerry's a pathological liar, an opportunist who is totally unfit/lacking moral integrity to be the President of the United States of America, and someone most Americans feel they cannot trust. |
Some of the media will stay loyal to the end and may even be unable to contain their bias. Most of the rest of them will be willing to carry the water, provided Mr. Reporting For Duty holds up his end- but if it looks like he's ducking & trying to deceive them (and I think he will), they'll turn on him like a pack of wild dogs. |

Hillary should be careful when using the word "illegitimate". Given her husband's proclivities, there is no knowing how many times that word could be applied to certain of his offspring. |

On the first point Russert made, that Kerry needs to show he is not just "not Bush":
How can it be that the only credential Democrats seem to admire in Kerry is that he is not George Bush? I have a little dog that is not George Bush. Isn't it sad that so many Democrats actually believe or hope Kerry is not telling the truth when he said he would still vote for the Iraq war, given what he knows now today? That he will fight a "smarter" war in Iraq and on terror? That he stands by his vote for the Patriot Act? That he wants to increase the size of the military? That he opposes gay marriage? From what I understand, 9 out of 10 delegates at the Democratic Convention were opposed to the war in Iraq in the first place. And yet they nominated this guy. The party is stacked to the rafters with hopeless hypocrites. No wonder Zell Miller and Ed Koch are backing Bush!

I guess I have to say it again. Premature bluster only worsens the pain of losing. I hope to God that Flipper John goes back to his mansion in disgrace but we should delay celebration until the President calls. He still has enormous coffers and about half the nation behind him. Stay the course. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |

Just wait, you're gonna start seeing Bill & Hillary-ous chiming in here and there about the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" and tryin' to come off all statesman-like. Just to keep the commie-wing of the Dems and the press hopeful. _________________ A willing tool of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" since 1981. |

I believe they picked John Kerry for several reasons.
1. Having a defeatable Democrat like Kerry, ensures NO re-election in 2008. Hence, Hiliary can just waltz right in and save the day.
2. By picking Kerry, the Demo's will "see their ways" and try to reform themselves. Again, Hiliary to the rescue in 2008. With a new spin.
3. By concentrating on Kerry, the Senate and Congressional races are barely being touched. Again, a few seats here and there, they control both houses and Bush is basically dead-locked for the second term.
4. They [Demo's] realize that's it's hard if not impossible to change the Presidency during a war, therefore they look to the future. They figure they can bide their time and eventually they will get what they have coming to them.
Just a few thoughts. _________________ Keep Kerry Out

1. I have also felt he was a sacrificial lamb, it was apparent from the start he had extreme holes in his character.
2. He is the most Lib Dem on the ticket, <---easy target
3. John Edwards is absolutely not qualified for office, why bring a legit running mate through all the torture, it would ruin their career
4. He is showing many cracks, best 2 out of 3 isn't working anymore for him

Due to the speculative nature of this thread, I'll be moving it to geedunk...
