Saw this post by rbshirley in the "vets only" section and thought it was worth reposting here. (Ref: http://www.pcf45.com/ )
The following image was recently (May 20, 2004) taken by a Swift Boat
sailor (visiting Vietnam) of a picture that hangs in the HCM City (formerly
Saigon) "War Crimes Musuem" in the section honoring American War
protestors.
It shows the officials of the current Vietnamese government expressing
appreciation to John Kerry in 1983 for his part in winning the war for the
North Vietnamese.
I doubt that this will be included in the Kerry political campaign ads.
Nor will the following:
On April 30, 2004 the Reuters news service reported:
"Celebrating the 29th anniversary of the fall of Saigon, the North
Vietnamese general who led his forces to victory said Friday he
was grateful to leaders of the US antiwar movement, one of whom
was presidential candidate John Kerry.
'I would like to thank them,' said General Vo Nguyen Giap, now 93.
Giap was speaking during a two-hour interview with foriegn and
domestic media on the 29th anniversary of the fall of Saigon"
Reuters, which first reported Giap's comments, suggested that the
former enemy general was mindful of Kerry's role in leading some of
the highest profile antiwar protests of the entire Vietnam war.
North Vietnamese Colonel Bui Tin, who served under Gen. Giap on the
general staff of the North Vietnamese army, received South Vietnam's
unconditional surrender on April 30, 1975.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal after his retirement, Col
Tin explicitly credited leaders of the U.S. anti-war movement, saying
they were "essential to our strategy."
"Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at
9 AM to follow the growth of the antiwar movement," Col. Tin told the
Journal.

Wow and he is on the ballot. Undisputable evidence that he is a TRAITOR and Guilty of TREASON. Thanks FDL good work! _________________ Helicopter Marine Attack Squadron 169 which is now HMLA-169. They added Huey's to compliment the Cobra effectiveness. When I served we just had Snakes. |

Foxdicklover, your picture's link was bad. Let me repost it for you:
Something tells me that this is about as apocryphal as Greenhat's book. |

I can always tell when someone is losing a debate... I remember frustrating one opponent so much, he hauled off and hit me... I just laughed because I knew I had him. Sounds like some of the folks on this BBS are gettin' to ya Sparky
You might want to try focusing on facts and intelligently expressing your opinions instead of name calling...

Yeah, Sparkles... give it a rest, would ya? I mean, I know supporting a self-confessed war criminal can be a little difficult at times, but that's no reason to get playground on us... right, Sparkles? |
