"Carneal reported the entire book trade's initial order was a modest 30,000 copies, yet Regnery printed 85,000, based on their higher expectations. But even that number proved woefully inadequate, as customers clamored to buy copies when the Swift Boat Veteran's story broke."

What is terribly ironic is that both Clinton's got multi-million dollar advances (which will NEVER be recovered by the publisher) for a combined sales of just barely 2 million copies (for the pair of them).

Unfit will blow BOTH of those books combined out of the water in less than 2 months.

Hopefully the authors have a royalty agreement that pays them a few $$s per copies sold

Why not print 1 million books then?

Stores still don't have the book.

Because it takes time to crank the books off the press. You got to allow for maintenance (need to keep the machines well-oiled and running).

The Clintons didn't have a tiny little company cranking out their books six weeks ahead of schedule, either. Wink

Borders just got there supply in and I just came back from picking up my reserved copy. The reserved area was packed with "Unfit For Command". There had to have been 50 people that had the book on reserve. Keep up the good work. Very Happy
