As theeresa informed us, "my husband is a fighter..." !!?? [i.e.,.."he will protect himself at all costs!" She never said a fighter of what or for whom...]
We've got to give this one thing to him, he is a master at cloaking devices. Remember the beginning of his speech before the Senate: "I'm not speaking as John Kerry....." His brilliance in this regard is truly, truly creepy. |

It wasn't just his Senate testimony --- later on in a press interview he repeated the allegations and was specific about the crimes he committed. |

Senator Kerry,
Please take this man's most excellent advice and sue the SBVT for libel.
Sincerely,

Since I posted this last night I've been thinking about what it would be like if Kerry sued.
Given John O'Neill's experience and meticulous attention to detail, I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't got the text for a counter suit already half prepared.
Just think of how many weeks Douglas Brinkley would be on the stand testifying! He's already made that go-bother-John-Kerry-for-the-documents comment, and had to say that Christmas in Cambodia was a "mongrel phrase". Might he turn against Kerry to save his own reputation? How long would it take to depose all the Swifties, let alone have them testify in court? We might find out who used Sec. Lehman's autopen to sign Kerry's 3rd citation. The whole thing would be wild.
It's as if Nixon's ghost made Dean do this... |

What a load of Barbra Streisand!
This is a red herring put out by Dean, designed to make it look like Kerry could sue if he wanted to, but doesn't for some unknown reason (like not wanting to hurt his "band of brothers?" LOLOL!).
Why doesn't Dean simply encourage Kerry to sign the 180 and release all his records and put the matter to rest once and for all? Wouldn't that be a lot more simple and expedient than a long, dragged out court case, which would help his election prospects? What could Kerry possibly be afraid of? The truth will set you free!!! LOL!
Kerry doesn't DARE sue, for all the reasons given above. I strongly encourage him to do so, so that the discovery period can yield the access to the 96% or more of his military record that he will not authorize to be released.
As for Dean's criticism of Corsi, I ask him: to what party do Sharpton and Je$$e Jack$on belong (remember the "Hymietown" and certain arson crimes in stores owned by Jews?) How about all those Pope hating gays? I don't think that radical Muslims are on anyone's Christmas list. And Corsi apologized for any remarks he might have made. The Dems never apologize. Not genuinely, anyway.
If Dean wants real hate speech specialists, the place to go is the Dem party. Just take a look at some of their web forums! _________________ Everytime he had a choice, Kerry chose to side with communists rather than the United States. |

Now FindLaw has another column, kind of taking the other side:
http://writ.news.findlaw.com/dorf/20040901.html
The best part is:
Quote: | So what action should be taken by Kerry supporters upset by the falsehoods presented by Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, or by Bush supporters distressed by the conspiracy theories fostered by Fahrenheit 9/11? Don't run to the FEC or the courts. Instead, rally your own 527s. As both of these candidates like to say, bring it on. |
In other words, answer the charges, Kerry! |

Sue? As in a boy named Sue?
Kerry is toast, methinks. The SVFT are only replaying Kerry's own words and showing how his records are inconsistent with eyewitness accounts. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

Just an FYI-
I don't know if you are an attorney, but you need to know that is who the FindLaw web site caters to. It pays to be very precise with your language and arguments there, if you hope to have any real discussion.
I haven't posted a message there yet because I don't feel like I know anything about case law in that area. John Dean has misconstrued Gardner so much in his opinion piece that I'm not sure I can form a cogent answer to it. If a person refuses to try to understand how the military works, then you wonder if sometimes it isn't better to just move on. |

armywife, i'm just an old korean era vet that's been P.O.ed over kerry and his cut-throat traitors ever since '71. no legal exper. at all.
i used rational argument to get my point across. ranting and raving just closes folks minds. i thought a gentle appraoch would work a lil better
finally found a group that feels exactly as i do. been reading this site for a week before i decided to post |

LiveFreeOrDie:
Mission accomplished! I tried to make it as reasonable as possible, but I just saw Zell Miller's speech, and I am mighty fired up!!
My message:
*******************************************
Corroborated eyewitnesses ARE facts! I have read most of "Unfit for Command" and the Swiftboat Veterans have a well written book, repleat with footnotes and references, and virtually all of Kerry's Vietnam contemporaries and commanders. All the witnesses to Kerry's exploits have signed affidavits as to their veracity. Kerry has not, nor has his eight man "band of brothers." And he has released the barest minimum of documents to support his stories. That just looks bad. Every week, another "exaggeration" about his war hero stories is revealed, taking their toll, and making him look like a bigger liar than Clinton, and making the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth more and more truthful than Kerry.
Given the damage to his campaign, which is proving not to be inconsequential, it is just plain idiotic of him not to simply release his files and put the matter to rest once and for all. Sure, he is under no obligation to do so, but unless he has something to hide in those files, he should just authorize their release and get the story off his chest, and the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth off his back. He has already waited too long, and the questions about his veracity are beginning to spread beyond right wing circles. Bush released his documents, and now it is Kerry's turn.
I notice Kerry did not hesitate to criticize the President about his Air National Guard service (when he could get away with it; do a Google search), and continued to do so until HIS records were being scrutinized. Even after his well reported "Bring. It. On!"
Well, they did, and now his reticence in addressing the allegations fo the SBVT is making it seem as though he is saying "Please. Make. It. Stop!" He cannot afford this, given the closeness of the election polling.
Furthermore, does it make sense for an authentic Vietnam hero to sic his lawyers on radio stations to stop the Swiftboat Vets' advertisements? Is it the act of a man with truth on his side to try to get their book pulled from bookstore shelves? Does a man with a clear conscience and truth on his side send his surrogates out to smear, defame, and insult his fellow veterans rather than debate them or simply supply the documentation to prove his case?
I think not. The ball is in Kerry's court. Let's see how he plays. _________________ Everytime he had a choice, Kerry chose to side with communists rather than the United States. |
