The Ap is slobbering all over Kerry's speech, but its hollow it doesnt question any of Kerrys outrageous promises or the cool reception that he received.

Well they are the old media and they are obsolete.

Kerry obviously reads the "Legion" other wise he would never have known about the Widows Tax Bill since he is never in congress and has no idea it isa up for vote before election.

He had no enthusiasm in his presentation. It was dry, not much audience response and nothing new.

I would like to start a pool on who will be and when the first Democrat will come forward and claim that they have such a poor candidate.

he always sounds dry - I always feel like his voice has a fake drone-like sound.

Word to the wise. Don't attempt to eat lunch and watch Kerry at
the same time. I gave it 20 minutes worth and gave it up. One
thing that I wanted to see was shots of the audience to see what
the reaction was. Surprise, surprise. Just a head shot of Kerry.
He got all the American Legion gut issues and ticked them off one
by one blissfully ignoring the fact that he has been running obstruction
on this stuff for the last 20 years in the Senate.

I don't know what bothers me more. Kerry blithly contridicting a
20 year voting record in the Senate (not to mention his VVAW record)
or the Vets giving him applause. I sure wish that we could have seen
what the audience was doing.

This was a hostile crowd at a Kerry speech. I guarantee that the Kerry campaign controlled the camera angles.

Whatever network you were watching was who controlled the camera angles for that network. The dominant media have little enough credibility and they know it. They're not about to put themselves in a position where they could be caught letting any political campaign direct their coverage of an event.

Just curious, isn't there a quote from Kerry somewhere (New Soldier maybe) where he says he won't march in any parades or join any veteran organizations?
Does someone have a link/source/quote?

Er Cuda, I checked out Fox, CNN, and MSNBC and the cameras
were all the same. Just the crawl under the talking head was
different.

Yes, the different stations all had the same camera feed, from what I saw. It looked like a fixed camera position that didn't pan or zoom.

From what I can tell, the reception Kerry is getting is chilly to downright cold. It shouldn't suprise any of us that the MSM will not show the audience. BTW, it is gall not 'gaul', but otherwise I agree....Kerry has a lot of it.

That depends on whether he meant to use the word "gall" or he was alluding to Kerry's "Frenchness" in an incredibly literate alliteration. Smile

I made the same observation as I was searching for a network that would show the usual audience shots...pretty conclusive that the camera was controlled by someone with an interest in not showing audience response...now whom might that be?

It appears a lot of the Legion voted with their feet, and chose not to show up. It would be interesting to see how many show up for other scheduled events.
Raw numbers of butts in seats, are votes.
