You people close to Florida be careful. This is looking like another Cat 5 storm, take all precautions possible and we're all hoping you come through it okay (whether you're a Republican or a Democrat). |

I may be a blonde from California, but I have more than one brain cell and even I picked up on what Kerry had to say today...He said:
" I wouldn't go to war without a plan!"
First time, I have ever heard him tell the truth.
He went to Vietnam and had a plan, that plan, was to get out and come back an attack everyone left behind....Now he is trying to hide that truth!
He did it before and he will do it again. This man is "Unfit for Command." _________________ Cali-HeyGirl....proud to be a CWO5 Navy wife! |

I just wanted to note another tid-bit in the washington times article:
Quote: | In a conference room off the main convention hall here, the anti-Kerry veteran group ? Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ? distributed flyers, buttons and CD-ROMs of information about Mr. Kerry. |
Way to go Swiftees! |

"And if there's one thing I learned from my service, I would never have gone to war without a plan to win the peace," Kerry said.>>>
Here's the plan guys, we recklessly beach our boats and shoot a VC in the back then we write up the whole story, get a bunch of medals, don't forget
3 purple hearts and I'm out of here guys.
Hey, anybody got some more 8mm film ? I want to reshoot the part
where I'm piloting the boat,... somebody let go a few rounds for sound effects.
Geez guys help me out here, I'm going to be the President for crying out loud.!! |

As far as John F-ing Kerry is concerned Viet Nam was over when he hollered the most important words of the entire conflict, "CUT!" _________________ No whiners! |

That too funny. or,
John Kerry recalls the end of the Vietnam War..."that's a wrap".
John, what are you going to do after the Vietnam war?
Answer: I'm going to Disney...uh the U.S. Senate.
OK, enough of this sillyness.
We have a candidate to crush!

I made the same observation as I was searching for a network that would show the usual audience shots...pretty conclusive that the camera was controlled by someone with an interest in not showing audience response...now whom might that be? |
That could be attributed either to all the networks having to have their cameras on the same camera platform, or possibly a common feed. Both are a far cry from the Reporting For Duty campaign controlling the camera angles. As one of the mods said, making unsubstantiated charges like that isn't good for the credibility of the one making the charge. |

I disagree with most of you. I think Kerry's speech was his standard "tell them what they want to hear" speech; however, I was amazed at many times he was applauded. I can't figure it out.
Found some interesting statistics also.....Kerry has a "o" rating by The American Legion:
The American Legion
Year: 2003
Issue: Veterans Issues
The following ratings are based on the votes the organization considered most important; the numbers reflect the percentage of time the representative voted the organization's preferred position.
MA U.S. Senate Sr Edward M. 'Ted' Kennedy
Democrat 50
MA U.S. Senate Jr John Forbes Kerry
Democrat 0
NC U.S. Senate Sr John Reid Edwards
Democrat 50
NC U.S. Senate Jr Elizabeth H. Dole
Republican 100

Watched kerry speak today. The difference I saw between the acceptance of Bush and Kerry was showing. Kerry received a luke warm welcome and the looks on the Legions members after the speech said alot. They weren't smiling at him, thats for sure. At least they were cordial but a long way from acceptance of Kerry. Kerry left very quickly and didn't look back. I think he noticed! I also noticed that when Bush spoke the cameras showed the audience behind him, today I didn't see the camera on anyone behind Kerry (they never took the camera directly off Kerry) and I don't think I missed it. Wonder why?
While he was talking about what he would do for the military. I don't think a leopard can change its spots. He again has done a complete flip-flop again. 20+ years as a Senator with a very anti-military and anti-veteran record has all of a sudden had a metamorphosis and I'm not buying it. I don't think the Legion members bought it either.
Just my take after watching both the reactions to Bush and Kerry. _________________ Viet Nam vet and PROUD! |
