There were some excerpts just revealed on FoxNews. He will claim his "two tours of duty" make him more fit to be CIC. Pathetic! |

*growl*
This is a violation of custom. It is customary for the opposing party to release a rebuttal statement just after the nomination speech, but it is not customary for a candidate to make an opposition-acceptance speech.
Why doesn't this suprise me....Gore didn't follow the unwritten rules of presidential politics either.... _________________ -Polaris

Polaris,
Kerry is following the unwritten law "Win, no matter what it takes, no matter who gets hurt, and no matter whose posterior you have to kiss." _________________ Bye bye, Boston Straggler! |

Kerry to Speak at Rally Immediately After Republican Convention
VOA News
02 Sep 2004, 21:23 UTC
AP
John Kerry
Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry plans to speak at a late-night rally that will immediately follow the end of the Republican National Convention.
The unusual rally will feature Senator Kerry and his running mate Senator John Edwards speaking just before midnight in Ohio, one of the states considered key to winning this year's presidential election.
The Kerry campaign says the two men will talk about their plans for helping the economy, and making America safer and more respected in the world.
Democrats are eager to reclaim the media spotlight after a week of coverage focused on the Republican convention in New York.
The Kerry campaign says it has bought $50 million of television advertising time to air commercials in key states between now and Election Day, November 2. _________________ "We do not need to divide America over who served and how. Scott,
Yes I know, but it is disingeneous (sp?) for him (or the media) to complain about how dirty politics is then. The reason these unwritten rules exist is to maintain civility during an election....so it is possible to govern together afterwords.
IMHO the Dems are in dire need of such a lesson....a Bush landslide should just about do it IMHO. _________________ -Polaris

So stupid to "go after Bush's military record" -- that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Ho hum, I don't want to have to LISTEN to him, but I suppose we need to know what his attacks are going to be about... |

If Kerry does ANYTHING more than release a statement, he's not only violating custom, he is being dishonorable.
But, given the candidate, I'm hardly surprised if he does try to suck out some oxygen from the RNCs party.

It's not disingenuous for a liberal Democrat; only for a Republican. (Remember the double standard.) _________________ Bye bye, Boston Straggler! |

This will be a positive. He's desperate and he'll hand us some more ammunition, and a quick look at his strategy. No matter what he says, we can work it against him, starting tomorrow. |

It should be interesting to see which stations switch from post-analysis of President Bush to coverage of this loser.
I'm so angry I may just have to make another swiftvet contribution, which always calms me down. |
