Three people got Bronze Stars for the March 13, 1969 incident: Kerry, Thurlow, and Lambert.

Does anybody know where to find Robert Lambert's Bronze Star citation on the web?

...Retired Chief Petty Officer Robert E. Lambert, of Eagle Point, Ore., got a Bronze Star for pulling his boat commander -- Lt. Larry Thurlow -- out of the Bay Hap River on March 13, 1969. Thurlow had jumped onto another swift boat to aid sailors wounded by a mine explosion but fell off when the out-of-control boat ran aground.

Lambert, you may recall, has come forward and tried to be kind to both Thurlow and Kerry. Lambert says there was gunfire, but Thurlow didn't notice it. If Lambert's Bronze Star is for the same thing as Kerry's-- pulling somebody out of the water while being shot at-- this makes his testimony self-interested.

There's no rasmusen.org. I agree, as well. Lambert got his medal because of the supposed heavy fire. He doesn't want to give it back. That's the flip side of really getting into whatever other documents might exist, outside the Kerry stream. It might reflect on awards given others, that day, under false pretenses. Not ideal, certainly. Might be necessary.
