I've been S-ing for 2 years now and I never get tired of going to the Open House events in the NYC Chelsea studio! They always re-inspire re-juvenate and remind me why the S movement has become soo

| I saw and noticed the samethings. Did you notice when colmbs said that kerry never said that he would only respond after being attacked. They then played the tape that proved it and the dems still denied it wow! |

Meanwhile, as they are stating that "all of this happened 35 years ago" and "it was the statement of an angry young man", Kerry is plummeting in the polls and his campaign is coming apart at the seams. Let's stick to what's been working and watch as the Bush campaign and "Stolen Honor" takes a toll. We're doing fine. Great work, guys, I'm proud to be with you.  |

Dragon, I think all posts that brainstorm, query, analyze, reason, offer info... or even just opinionate in this matter are important to the cause, so don't apologize! I found your post very interesting. There is so much material, so many issues and so little time that we all can't work on everything... but each of us will pull out a thread or two that we know something about or feel strongly about and will push that out to the media in our separate ways. (i.e., right now, I am interested in getting media to question the definition of "two tours." -- simultaneously, I'm pushing coverage of the 9/12 rally... I will continue with these small "strikes" and others)
Having a dedicated site to respond quickly to the allegations against the Swifts is very important (have you checked out in Resources here -- "Pls help create a Kerry myth-buster FAQ" --?) -- and people are working on this. For me, I leave the heavy lifting on these issues to the Swiftees and to the military folks in the know here at this site -- I am a civilian, one who lived thru the Nam era, and though I have very strong feelings about taking Kerry down, I am well aware that I cannot bat in the military arena and would actually be counterproductive if I tried.
So, I work with what I have and what I can do best - comparative fact-checking, pointing out faulty premises, raising questions, holding media mouthpieces accountable for what they say, donating $$ -- my role is minor yet I multiply it with all the other people out there waging their individual fronts, and in that regard, I don't see any effort as not being important to this cause.
I know that all those who can offer the heavy guns are organizing their info and planning /making their strikes. I have never loved or cared about my country as much as I do right now -- and it is the SwiftVets coming forward, risking everything and demanding justice that has given voice to many of us who have been silent for so long. A demand for the truth, for justice: seeing how difficult this has been so far really makes one aware of how very, very deep the powers in this country have buried these very American attributes -- feels really good to be digging them up again and to say to the rich and powerful, your lies will not stand. |

I'm 60 years old and have seen more of that 'tactic' this year than in my whole lifetime. Show a clip that proves you're wrong to prove you're right. even spookier is the fact that a certain percentage of people buy it.
Down is up and up is down, folks. It's going to take some adjusting.

Using this perverted reasoning Lt. William Calley is an equally good candidate for President. After all, his "lapses" can be written off because he was simply an angry young man, and besides, he did serve in Vietnam, which is the ultimate qualifier for being Commander-in-Chief!

Great post, Dragon. Like you and others who have posted here, I am not a veteran, but want to do anything I can to help. I am already contributing as many dollars as I can, but want to find a way to lend skills and time as well.
Here's an idea along the lines of yours. How about creating a website that enhances accountability of the mainstream media and politicians by cataloging pertinent resource materials - online videos of interviews, written articles, campaign pamphlets, etc. - to be used as resources by both media and 'civilians' to look up information and to compare what has been said by political operatives in the past and the present. I'm not talking just about material directly on the Swiftees, but things said by and about Kerry and in his service now and over the years. Such a site would be both bandwidth intensive and people- and time-intensive, so it's not something the Swiftees could take on all by themselves (at least I wouldn't think so).
Here's one example: catalog some of Susan Estrich's bloviating and blustering threats to spread dirt about Republicans over the years. I would be willing to bet that this isn't her first venture into this territory. Another example would be video of some of Kerry's Senate campaign speeches and material over the past twenty years, along with .pdf files containing written material his campaigns have put out over the years.
This project would take dedicated people who can record and prepare material in various formats, do the research, and have a knowledge of preparing and putting material on the internet. It would also require having the right equipment and knowing how to use it. It would need people who can organize information and write well, and those with an understanding of website design and creation. I don't have all those skills, but I've got some and could learn more.
From my perspective, this isn't only a matter of this one man being personally detestable and having a really nasty history of betraying his country and his comrades. It's the fact that he would be a disastrous President, and having the Democratic party leftists, combined with the left-wing media, in power at this time could do enormous and possibly fatal damage to this country. The 50 year stranglehold the left-wing has had on the media is ending, and it's going to get worse before it gets better. There have to be people on the other side who are willing and able to fight back. I can't go fight in Iraq, but I can do something like this. That's the way I see it. |
