Looks like the Time poll wasn't a fluke:

Quote: | Bush Leads Kerry by 11 Points in Newsweek Poll After Convention
Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush leads his Democrat opponent John Kerry by 11 percentage points according to a poll immediately after the Republican National Convention in New York, Newsweek magazine reported.
Bush is supported by 54 percent of the 1,008 registered voters surveyed Thursday and Friday, compared with 43 percent support for Kerry, a four-term Massachusetts senator. Independent candidate Ralph Nader polled 3 percent. The poll has a margin of error of 4 percentage points, Newsweek said.
Bush, 58, accepted his party's nomination Thursday after convention speakers said he's strong on national security and in fighting terrorists. Kerry, 60, said in a speech after the convention ended that ``it's time to move America in a new direction'' and that Bush's policies have failed.
The president's job-approval rating rose to 52 percent, the first time it's been above 50 percent since January, Newsweek said. A 53 percent majority wants to see him re-elected, the highest since May of last year, the magazine reported. |

Yeah!--Is that cool or what??!!!--
AND, if you take their online poll here
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5915140/site/newsweek/
you can see both the results of the Newsweek Magazine poll and the results of their online poll which, at least as of a few minutes ago, had Bush ahead by 15 points--
So much for Susal Estrich and the others claiming that, because things were polling so close before, there wasn't much of a post-convention "bump" to be had when Kerry didn't get one after their convention--
Wrong again, chumps!!--
And, for all kinds of reasons, I say God Bless the Swift Boat Vets!!!--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |

My humble opinion on what these latest polls really show.
I don't think for a minute that there was a sudden bounce after
the RNC. I think that the spread is even worse and these two
outfits are willing to break with MSM and sell their magazine.
My Take:
Lets start back in June.
LIKELY VOTERS ONLY! : not the goof with a ring through his eyelid.
I say 47% at least were going to vote for Bush with commitment
Perhaps 30% would vote for Kerry with commitment. ( anybody but Bush crowd )
Then 20% who were not undecided they just didn't either answer the
pollster or were deliberately mispolled.
MSM doctors the polls as per marching instructions. No I'm not a conspiracy nut .
Who do you think these pollsters get to make the calls?
College Kids. Carter just went to Venesula the exit polls were off by 25%
because the pollsters were predisposed to that result. Garbage in garbage out.
Along comes the Swift Vets for Truth.
Same 47%
+........10% of the 30% cave in and abandon Kerry.
+.........50% of the 20% due to the ads answer the pollsters questions.
==============
That would make the "Likely Voters"
tally more like Bush 60%
.....................Kerry 40%
And I believe this was well known.
Time and Newsweek just wanted to be the first to end the LIE.
But we all know the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ended the LIE. |
