If I remember correctly, these documents have been posted here and debunked several times. Please use the "Search" function at the top of the page.
As I have said before, if your friend is as boneheaded as to be convinced and swayed on the basis of a few pieces of paper, then he deserves the President he's voting for.
Those of us with some common sense about the safety of our country, however, do not. We will continue to debunk, expose and vilify John Kerry for the self-serving pinhead that he was back then and is to this day.
Moving this forum to the geedunk, shortly as it doesn't have much to do with the Swifts' mission. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

My liberal friend keeps beating me over the head with this graphic that seems
to indicate The Poodle requested Vietnam service whereas Bush2 did not.
It’s like his last bit of “evidence” that Kerry is a hero. I’d like to shove it
down his throat, but I don’t know how. |
.......................................... Try this on for size ..........................................
...... So what! ........... Who cares! ......
Approximately nine million people served during the Vietnam era
===> Only about three million were actually sent to Vietnam <===
Both men served DURING the era of the Vietnam war
Both men were HONORABLY DISCHARGED
Therfore both men are VETERANS of the Vietnam era
Only Kerry continually LIED about the conduct of his service.
Only Kerry DEFAMED his country and his fellow soldiers
And he continues to EXAGGERATE about it to this day!
.......................... Thirty five years later ...........................
. John Kerry is "Unfit for Command!" .
.............. And if that doesn't convince them .... challenge them to a dual with pistols ..............

There was either a post or a thread here that was written by one of GWB's fellow flyers that addressed this.
He said that they were all directed to check the "do not request overseas duty" because of something to do with the state's jurisdiction over their unit, or something to that effect.
As I recall, I think the point he was making, was that it was a non-issue. because if the unit would have been activated, it would have been done so as whole, and as pilots, they would go where deployed, without any personal options.
My take is that it was nothing more than a typical government form with too many irrelevant questions etc. _________________ Corpsman, 1969-1973 |

You can't go wrong with what rbshirley said. But I would like to add one more thing. Ask your liberal friend if he knows that there is a tribute to John Kerry in a museum in Ho Chi Minh City. He is listed among Castro, Mao, and others as someone who helped North Vietman win the war.
When I mentioned this to a lib friend, who was a veteran, he just walked out the door....had no reply whatsoever. It was cool daddyo! _________________ "And no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often, than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry"

My grandfather required that we watch important historical moments on television - always admonishing us that we'll one day read about this in school. With that same spirit he had us watch as the bodies of our fallen soldiers were brought home with little fanfare and appalling public apathy. He said, 'The Bible tells us that "no greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for a friend." Never, ever forget how costly your freedom is.'
If Gramps had lived a few more years, how proud he would have been to see my brother wearing the uniform of a United States Marine and that we have never forgotten.
John Kerry is no friend to this nation - in words or deeds. _________________ Veritas Vos Liberabit |

Thanks for the repiles. Well, most of them at least . I think I'll just go back to lurking.
Hey Bob: I have a spot for you on my boat when you come out for the dedication at Coronado.
