This is fact. The fact that so few Americans are aware of this is pittiful. We really need to raise the bar in public schools considerably.

It is a safe bet that more Vienesse high school students know more about the American Civil war than do public hich school students anywhere in America.
I have no data to back this up other than travelling and talking with kids from other countries, especially Austrians.
