The man who wants to be commander in chief was "shook up" because of the demonstrators...do you think he's going to put in for a purple heart or another type medal? Sure wish that Drudge would post some of this. From what I see on the MSM the only people who demonstrate are against Bush. Swifties, you started this and gave us all courage to speak out!! Love those swiftboats and to be honest until all this started didn't even know what they were...and honestly...they are now seared into my consciousness..
God Bless America,

YEAH for Steubenville and NewarK!!!!!!! So how'd Kerry people spin the Newark no show???????
How could that war strengthened hero be shaken by a 'few' protestors????
Has anyone explained to him that as president, he might get SHOT at???
he'd be in the line of fire 'again'???? that should be enough to send him
packing back to PA , MA, DC, ID or whereever else Teresa has a house. |

here is more about Steubenville, Ohio
STEUBENVILLE - Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, has once again made arrangements to visit Steubenville.
Kerry had originally planned a stop Aug. 20, but he canceled the visit because of reported scheduling conflicts. That visit has been rescheduled, according to John Abdalla, head of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, who said he had spoken with members of Kerry's campaign about the visit.
Abdalla and Dan Trevas, communications director for the Ohio Democratic Party, said Kerry will make an appearance at the Fort Steuben Visitor's Center on Third Street between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Abdalla also said Kerry's campaign members have indicated the presidential hopeful would like to be able to trap shoot in the area if his schedule allows.
"I know he's an avid sportsman. I'd heard last time he was looking for shooting opportunities," said Trevas.
Bob Hickle, owner of the Island Creek Sporting Clay business on Jefferson County Road 56, said he was contacted two weeks ago by local Democratic representatives to see whether Kerry would be able to trap shoot there.
"I told them 'Oh no,'" Hickle said.
Hickle said the representatives indicated Kerry wanted to shoot and use the event as a photo and campaign opportunity. Hickle said the Democratic representatives thought he would be supportive of Kerry's campaign since he is a pipefitter, union laborer and a Vietnam veteran. But Hickle said he does not support Kerry.
"I told them he (Kerry) could come and shoot, but he couldn't use it as a campaign vehicle," he said.
Kerry has been campaigning at various sites around the area including Wheeling, Pittsburgh and Youngstown.
"We're just delighted to have him back in the state," Trevas said. "I think it just shows the importance of Eastern Ohio in this election. Eastern Ohioans have put their lives into their jobs and are seeing little in return under the Bush administration.

The AP Is At It Again
Kathryn Lopez reproduced this email from a reader in Steubenville, Ohio:
Before Kerry arrived there was a huge pro-life march led by Franciscan University students, 500 strong. "You can't be Catholic and pro-abortion", read some of their signs. Students and members of local Catholic parishes were full of energy and FoxNews reported that this was the largest protest against Kerry outside of the Democratic Convention....
The Kerry campaign...also chose to hold the rally in a public park which should be open to all the public. Mistake number three. The police chief, sheriff, and mayor all agreed with me that protesters and their signs would be allowed inside the Kerry rally site. Freedom of speech is alive and well here in Ohio. The Kerry campaign flipped out!
So, now add another 500 local Bush supporters to the Kerry rally. They tried to turn up the music but they could not drown us out. According to the Herald Star (local press), "The crowd, estimated by officials as 3,500 strong, was almost split in half with people for and against the Massachusetts senator." John Kerry must know he has a problem when over 15% of his audience was booing him. We were respectful and did not heckle him - but upon arrival and when he sought our applause he got something he didn't expect. As the press arrived a feisty nine year old little girl began shouting, "We want Bush!", and we all chanted along. The campaign staff was beside themselves. This is history in the making! Even places like Steubenville are not supporting John Kerry. He is in serious trouble.
Now, check out this Associated Press article on Kerry's visit to Steubenville by Darlene Superville. Note the next to the last paragraph:
Several dozen Bush supporters greeted Kerry in Steubenville with signs favoring a second Bush term and opposing the Catholic Kerry's support for abortion rights.
I think that until further notice, you should assume that every news article you see that is based on an AP dispatch--probably at least half of the content of most newspapers--should be considered unreliable.
Thanks to reader Shanley Burk for pointing this out.

I think the AP has really assumed people are stupid by reporting bogus stories when there are hundreds/thousands of witnesses to dispute them.
Well, I hope the Swiftboat story, in addition to setting the record straight about our 2.5 million veterans that served honorably in the cause of Freedom in Vietnam also finally, after over 40 years, results in a clean up of the media where once again, the news is reported, not propaganda. |

Misty, does the back of your car really look like that?
INTENSE
I love that the rallying chant was started by a 9 year old.
And props to Franciscan's pro-life contingent. Cornell once got a crowd of 8 (yes EIGHT) together for a pro-life demonstration, it was a record. |
