THE COWARD OF VIETNAM
WHEN JOHNNIE CAME MARCHING HOME
By: Barbara Stanley
The left would have us believe that we are fighting the war in Vietnam all over again. But that is just a distraction. The only connection to Vietnam that is before us now is that John Kerry, the opportunists' opportunist, got his medals and his jacket the lousy way. Since the only interview Johnny Boy has given about this scandal is to the Comedy channel, it is left to the rest of us to wonder just what makes Johnny run.
Whereas some kids answered the ago old question "what are you going to be when you grow up?" with a simple, fireman, doctor or cop, little Johnny Kerry wanted to be president. What was he thinking, when his family shipped him off to Swiss private school? Was he dreaming of becoming president some day so he would finally have someone to adore him? Was little Johnnie simply looking for love and a rich wife and for that rich wife to buy him the power that only comes from the highest office in the world? Is this what little Johnnie was aiming for when he tried to avoid the draft and but not the uniform?
Even though the Left would have us believe that Johnnie's service in Vietnam was somehow honorable by distracting us with that war, even spitting propagandists like Chris Matthews can't make this pile smell like a rose. But, as they spin it, the real damage is yet to come as the compact that Johnnie made with the Communists when he came home is before us now and that one will not be swept under the rug of outrage.
Johnnie came home and failed at a run for office until he got smart, stuck his wet finger up into a chorus of Blowin' In The Wind and realized he could surf that rising tide of discontent into a cushy political seat. Trading on his commie ties (at his heart, this elitist with the snooty accent is just like the rest of 'em: commies out the mouth, all for the people-- while capitalists and privileged at the very top eating caviar with a philosophy chaser) Johnnie never passed up easy opportunity when it came his way.
But Johnnie's seabag has finally caught up with him and his grandiose diary, his record and those who knew him when are all laying bare for inspection and exposure to the gritty light of a post-9/11 day.
Johnnie was a fraud and still is, for that matter. He was a fraud as a sailor and hero then just like he is a fraud as a Senator and husband now. I could even entertain the notion that since Tahrayza wears the pants in the house now, Johnnie is even as a.w.o.l. at home as he is in the Congress. Along with his running mate, whom his constituents have nicknamed "No-Show Edwards", Johnnie has been absent while still collecting a paycheck from the Senate so much so that his own voters in Mass want to dump him and elect someone who will actually represent them and be on the job.
Johnnie's free ride is coming to an end, and an ignominious one at that. Karma has finally caught up with him and the very fact he thought he could snow the entire country the way he has snowed his adorants can mean only one of two things: either he is a totally self-obsessed egoist or he is taking advice from the Clintons. No, wait; those are not mutually exclusive. It seems to me that this man without a conscience (who admitted to burning villages, killing livestock and innocent civilian noncombatants) is an empty suit, a hollow man.

I don't think of John Kerry as a coward, he did after all face the enemy in combat. It was his actions after combat that prompted him to fluff his military resume and claim valor for fabricated deeds. His ego didn't permit him to settle for simple hero, for rescuing a buddy from eminent danger, he wanted to attain superhero status, even if it required inventing the heroic deeds. The terms that do come to mind for John Kerry are Fraud, Traitor, Opportunist, Commie, Liar, Egotist, Charlatan, Imposter, Fake, Con Artist, Pretender, Turncoat, Collaborator, and maybe even Double Agent.
This man must never be allowed to become President of the United States. |

I also don't consider John Kerry a coward for the same reason...he did in fact put himself in harm's way.
I do, however, consider him dishonorable, unhonorable, untrustworthy, unethical, devious, unscrupulous, hypocritical, self-centered, communistic/socialist and Unift To Command a canoe much less the United States of America. |

Let's remember that "not being a coward" is not the same thing as "being a hero".
While candidate Kerry probably wasn't a "coward" - he certainly WAS NOT a "hero". |

Let's also remember that "putting himself in harm's way" is not the same as "volunteering to put oneself in harms way" which is how he describes himself.
Not a big difference, but he didn't volunteer Vietnam service upfront. |
