John Kerry Has Always Been a Devout "Stevensonite"
- ie, a Liberal Internationalist

He was heavily indoctrinated in Stevenson's dogma during his formative years

"I was in the fifth grade and he was in the third grade and we were out selling Adlai Stevenson campaign buttons..." Said Peggy Kerry

His father, Richard was an Aldai Stevens supporter during the 1952 and 1956 Presidential Elections and he "...worked for the Foreign Service and served as an attorney for the Bureau of United Nations Affairs in the U.S. Department of State."

So, Whose Adlai E. Stevenson? - In 1945, he helped formulate the preparatory documents for the United Nations, serving in various capacities in relation to United Nations - an Internationalist - capable of winning the confidence and collaboration of people of radically divergent convictions on behalf of the public weal. In 1952, with liberal support, he ran against Eisenhower for the office of Presidency [the campaign Peggy Kerry was referring to in her interview with Boston AP] - he bitterly attacked Richard Nixon, a man he detested. He ran again in 1956 with no success.

In his 1952 Acceptance Speech Stevenson said:

"Let's talk sense to the American people," he said. "Let's tell them the truth, that there are no gains without pains, that we are now on the eve of great decisions, not easy decisions, like resistance when you are attacked, but a long patient, costly struggle which alone can assure triumph over the great enemies of man - war, poverty, and tyranny - and the assaults upon
human dignity which are the most grievous consequences of each."

He retained these Liberal/Internationalist views into his young adult life

While attending St. Paul's School in Concord, NH (1958-1962) - He identified himself as a Liberal Catholic admidst a majority of Republican Episcopaleans.

He Actively Supported the Liberal Agenda as a Young Man

"In 1962, Kerry volunteered for Ted Kennedy's first Senatorial campaign." He dated Jacqueline's half sister, Janet Jennings Auchincloss.

He held Stevenson's anti-war view prior to his enlistment

At Yale - "In March 1965, as the Vietnam War escalated, he won the Ten Eyck prize as the best orator in the junior class for a speech that was critical of U.S. foreign policy. In the speech he said, "It is the specter of Western imperialism that causes more fear among Africans and Asians than communism, and thus it is self-defeating." Because of his public speaking skills, he was chosen to give the class oration at graduation. The speech was hastily rewritten at the last moment, and was a broad criticism of American foreign policy, including the war."

At Yale - 1966 - "Because of his public speaking skills, he was chosen to give the class oration at graduation in the Spring of 1966. The speech was hastily rewritten at the last moment, and was a broad criticism of American foreign policy, including the war. In his address to the his class, he challenged the United States to withdraw from Vietnam and to scale down foreign military operations."

He held Stevenson's anti-war/Internationalist view at the time of his enlistment.

NBC News [one of his early appearances, 1971] Kerry was asked why, if he opposed the war, he agreed to go to Vietnam and fight. He emphasized his reluctance, saying: ?I wound up going to Vietnam because in 1965, voicing an objection, as I would have liked to have at that point, would have been, I think, a very futile thing.?

Having received his military credentials for speaking out against the war, he immediately set out to do so with the Stevenson flair.

In America, "everybody who's against the war is suddenly considered anti-American," Kerry said. "But I don't think they can turn to me and say I don't know what's going on or I'm a draft dodger." Referring to the House Armed Services Committee, chaired by L. Mendel Rivers (D-S.C.), Kerry said, "I want to go down to Washington and confront Medel Rivers, who never fought in a war."

Kerry requested that his superior, Rear Admiral Walter F. Schlech, Jr., grant him an early discharge so that he could run for Congress on an antiwar platform. "I just said to the admiral: `I've got to get out. I've got to go do what I came back here to do, which is, end this thing," Kerry recalled, referring to the war. The request was approved, and Kerry was honorably discharged, which he said shaved six months from his commitment.

He supports a volunteer Army, "if and only if we can create the controls for it. You're going to have to prepare for the possibility of a national emergency, however." Kerry said that the United Nations should have control over most of our foreign military operations. "I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."

Having failed to gain a voice in Congress by the ordinary liberal means - he found the ingredients to achieve a faster way to accomplish the liberal's anti-war agenda.

The 1971 Kerry Hearing before the Committee on Foreign Relations - a completely staged event carefully orchestrated by the Senators sitting on the Committee, the Liberal Press, Kerry & VVAW and their liberal fianancial backers - designed to lie to the U.S. Congress and the American People for the sole purpose of successfully achieving their anti-war agenda and force Richard Nixon to be the first President to lose a war in American History.

A careful reading of the transcript of the 1971 Hearing before the Committee of Foreign Relations reveals a pre-existing liberal agenda reads more like script with a pre-meditated narrative, each character playing their own role - John Kerry playing the star's role. Kerry's claim of ill preparation to excuse the lack of submission of sworn affidavits to support his comments.

John Kerry is the Adlai E. Stevenson of 2004!

His character & nature is a chronic one and incapable of change! He will lie, cheat or steal - anything to further the Liberal Internationalist's agenda!

Robert, in reading over the 1971 testimony, Kerry starts talking about how unreliable the militia allies were and relates this story:

"I can cite many, many instances, sir, as in combat when these men refused to fight with us, when they shot with their guns over tin this area like this and their heads turned facing the other way. When we were taken under fire we Americans, supposedly fighting with them, and pinned down in a ditch, and I was in the Navy and this was pretty unconventional, but when we were pinned down in a ditch recovering bodies or something and they refused to come in and help us, point blank refused. I don't believe they want to fight, sir."

I don't think I have heard this story discussed anywhere else. Is Kerry claiming that he was pinned down in a ditch, underfire recovering bodies? Anyone, am I reading this wrong, or is this an entirely new engagement that has not been mentioned before?

He held to Stevenson's anti-war/Internationalist views during his enlistment:

Jerome Grossman (Mass PAX) of Massechusettes said:

"This fellow calls me up and he says: "You don't know me, but I have a bother who is a natural politician, and he's over in Vietnam Now. He's coming back and he wants to run in the caucus that you are
organizing."
And I said: "I already have a candidate." He says "Yes, but my brother is special." I said, "Who's your brother?" He says: "John Kerry." This was Cameron Kerry who at the time was a junior at Harvard College. He interested me so I said: "Get over here." He hopped a bus and he came over in his sweater and everything, and we talked. John Kerry did run in that caucus and did very, very well in the caucus. I was hard pressed to beat him. But John Kerry, after he lost, he stood up and he said, "I'm going to respect the wishes of the caucus. I'm not going to run in the primary. I will dedicate the rest of the campaign to working for Father Drinan." And that's why I have been a supporter of John Kerry every since."

[Read the whole pdf - it's very enlightening]

He participated in the Anti-War Moratorium Oct 14, 15, 1970 - while he was still on active duty.

"Kerry is a pilot, and on October 14 and 15 he flew Ted Kennedy's advisor Adam Walinsky by private plane throughout the State of New York so that Walinsky could give speeches against the Vietnam War. But Kerry was smart enough not to put down "Moratorium" on the Navy signout sheet for that Tuesday and Wednesday."
