Ben Barnes said he helped Bush get into the Guard when Barnes was Lt. Gov of Texas. Problem with that is that he did not become Lt. Gov of Texas until 1969 (from Texas Monthly Talks/2003).

I will give you a first hand story on Ben Barnes. In the late 60's I was a Texas Peace. I cannot recall the event (I think it was the Texas/OU weekend) but I was tapped to provide security at the Fairmont Hotel for the then Lt Governor.

There was a large party with many guests. I have no idea who paid for the party but I am positive it was not BB.

After the party ended Mr. Barnes had us load several cases of liquor into the trunk of his limo and instructed the driver to get them to "the plane."

I trust him about as far as I do Kerry.

Dan Rather needs to do a story about himself and how his claim of being a marine was proven to be if not an outright lie, then at best a gross exaggeration.

Do you mean the freedom to shop our little hearts out at Wal-Mart?

The freedom to run with the "in" crowd?

The freedom to get by so long as you don't "make waves"?

Those are the only freedoms we have anymore.

I also learned to day the Ben Barnes testified under oath in 1999 that he has had no past communication with any member of the Bush family. What we have here folks is a failure to communicate and another filp flopper.
It was also stated on a ABC raido show today that he is a member of a 527 group that has suspected ties to the Kerry campaign.
Looks like ole JFK is pullin' them out of the woodwork again.

We can call them "Laughing Points," as in "laughing at your sophomoric attempt at investigative journalism."

And to think this used to be one of the most highly respected anchors in America.

Has America really wised up this much, or has Dan Blather really sunk down this low?

Pretty sad for that man that his own daughter is out on the airwaves, telling America that her father is doing this for money and to sell books.

Lord, how I hope that my children will never be put into a position of not trusting me and to see me as a liar and a political w***e. Sad

Very brave woman - one who definitely puts her country first. How difficult this must be for her.

Barnes is on the record saying in 1999 that he absolutely did NOT try to get GWB special treatment to get into the TANG.

Did CBS not know that this testimony existed, or did they disregard it, as they disregarded the son and wife of the man who supposedly signed those fakes?
