This is a letter that I wrote to a leftie socialist OpEd writer at my local paper:
September 4, 2004
Mr. Diuguid,
I am writing about your OpEd piece published in the Star on Saturday, September 4, 2004. The reason I am writing is I want to be on record as asking you if you are prepared to apologize to all of the Viet Nam veterans that have taken part in the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. I realize that I an being somewhat premature in asking that question; however your rant today with (my count) of eight instances of calling all 274 (last count) of these men liars made me wonder if you would have the integrity and decency to put your political bias aside when they are proven to be the “truth tellers” and John Kerry is proven again and again to be the one lying.
You conveniently have not mentioned how John Kerry has been proven a liar already at least three times (on the record) about his Christmas in Cambodia”, acknowledged as a falsehood by both his historian (Brinkley) and the Kerry Campaign. You also fail to mention that Kerry’s 1st Purple Heart now is accepted by the Kerry Campaign to be unearned and thus falsely issued. (Documented by his own journal) You also conveniently omit the fact that the U. S. Navy and Department of Defense is now investigating Kerry’s medal assortment, from the false and fictitious Combat “V” on his silver star to his false four bronze stars on his Vietnam Service Medal and the issuance of his Purple Hearts.
There is also instances on the record where Kerry lied about his relationship with David Alston in combat, and of course David Alston has lied (on the record) about his combat incidents with Kerry.
So you see, while my question is premature, that does in no way diminish the probability of it being asked. Kerry has a multitude of problems with his “Band of Brothers” and the varying accounts of his exploits. You should really be concerned about the Alston/Kerry connection. It can be proven that Alston served on Kerry’s boat less than one week and saw no combat with Kerry, and probably never served under Kerry’s command at all. (That investigation is ongoing) You should also be concerned that Mr. Alston no longer accompanies Kerry on any of his campaign appearances. You should also be concerned that Kerry will not allow any of his “Band of Brothers” to be interviewed. You should also be concerned that Kerry has not held a “news conference”, you know, one of those affairs where the media gets to ask questions, since August 1st. Somewhat strange for some one who wants all of the “free” press he can get. There is also the mysterious “4th man in the boat” in his 1st Purple Heart incident. People now are checking on Zaladonis’ physical whereabouts on 2Dec68. Available records put Zaladonis in An Thoi on that date, far away from Cam Ranh Bay.
As far as your statement, “Military record searches have verified his heroism and claims to his Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Hearts.”, that is not accurate. The “records that Kerry has made available” raises more questions about his medals. A thorough inspection of all of his military records, along with those of Mr. Alston and Mr. Zaladonis, would lie to rest this argument. Kerry refuses to allow that to happen.
I understand from which side you write and I understand your objective. I do think that you would do yourself harm as an Opinion writer and your readers a disservice if you failed to make a sincere apology when the time comes. My suggestion, Sir, is to start figuring out a way that you can palatably digest these words that appeared today. Whether John Kerry gets elected or not, the truth about John Kerry is going to be told. I would hope that you, like me, would prefer that it happen before the election. This country is polarized enough. _________________ USMC Recon

Excellent. I would like to know if your letter is published. Usually the media ignore us. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

I thought, perhaps, interested readers might wish to view the column which, I believe, you are referencing.

While the Republicans partied this week at their New York convention, the Democrats have had to duck and dodge the Swift boat bushwhacking that ambushed their presidential candidate.
A group calling itself Swift Boat Veterans for Truth released a book and TV ads attacking Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam War experience 35 years ago. Kerry has denounced the lies. Military record searches have verified his heroism and claims to his Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Hearts. (emphasis mine)
But the lie won't die.

Bravo, excellent letter. I think you need to keep it on file and send it again when the time to apologize is proven. My hope is upon finalization of the Navy investigation. |

No. It will not appear in the paper. Star has a policy of only one appearance per 30 days per author. I knew it would not be published when I wrote it, but I wanted to be on record. I have kept a copy of the letter and the reply that I received from Mr. Duiguid. We will see what character he has, if any, when the time comes. And it will come. _________________ USMC Recon

rayabus,
I thought I'd read here that the four bronze stars are correct. He earned some on the Gridley. That info can be found somewhere on this board. |

You gotta be kidding,
Part of the Judicial Watch complaint with the Navy & DOD covers this area. According to Judicial Watch & Burkett (Author, Stolen Valor) Kerry is entitled to three VSM's, the ribbon plus two bronz stars for participation in three recognized campaigns.
Judicial Watch has asked Kerry to remove hose awards from his website. _________________ USMC Recon
