Weren't these memos\documents part of a recent release by the Feds ?
If so, wouldn't they be the ones who did any forgeries ?
If not, couldn't the Feds verify the correctness of the documents ?

am I missing something here ?

Probably some civilian in the TANG forged the documents and inserted them in the historical record. That's my guess.

JCJR,

What are the changes that a daisy wheel would have print that matches the modern Windows font TNR?

And a daisy wheel printer WOULD NOT do small superscript. It might roll the bail up a bit and print normal-sized characters above the baseline, but it wouldn't print smaller letters.

Someone take a look at this:

http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/BushGuardmay4.pdf

and this:

http://users.cis.net/coldfeet/doc27.gif

And tell me if you think those two docs were signed by the same guy?

The zip code for Ellington is correct. Ellington Field is usually referred to as its own city, for example, Ellington Field, Texas. Ellington Field is some 18 miles or more from Houston, much closer to the ClearLake/NASA area. I do not know if in the 70's they had a PO box or if that area was commonly referred to as Houston or not.

Whle you all have been going over the typeset and such I have been going over the signatures of the 04 May and 01 Aug. Docs.

I'm not an expert but, the "J"'s are completely different, the slant's the body and the extension.

Then with the "K" look closely at the one on the 01 Aug Doc. The top of the "K" is cut to straight, no curl like in the May Doc. and if it's not my eyes playing tricks on me, the Aug Doc looks cut and pasted between the last sentence and the sig.

Does anyone know of any Authentic Docs with Killian's sig. to compare these to?

I have been watching this interesting debate and thought I would weigh in with some of my knowledge.

Proportional spacing first became available with the IBM Electromat 04 in 1946. Here is a history of IBM typewriters.

http://www.etypewriters.com/history.htm

The font used looks very much like the elite typewriter font and in the 12pt size that would have been available most likely in the IBM Selectric II (one of the most popular typewriters ever sold). I sold these and work for an office equipment dealer in the early 80s.

But the most interesting thing is this superscript and the font sizes. Most typist at that time created a sudo superscript by manually rolling the roller down, type the letters and then returning it to the proper position.

However the most important point is that there was no typewriter or word processor that I know of that would have been available at that time that had multiple sizes for fonts without having to change the ball or wheel. Most of the typewriters that had multiple sizes also changed the font with the other size.

The documents presented would make it appear that the machine used had the ability to change sizes in the same font on the fly. I would say that alone make two of these documents definite forgeries since that ability was not available on systems in 1972.

Just a thought I have, wouldn’t there be some sort of record somewhere of what office equipment the TANG had back than?

I understood that this Killian guy had these personal files at home. If he kept personal files on National Guardsmen at home, did he just keep them on Bush or would he have kept them on all the guardsmen under his command? Why just Bush? Unless he was a practicing soothsayer he would have kept more than just thse four pages. If he has others, bring them forward. I doubt it. The idea that he just remembers having thse tucked away in his "persona" files stinks to high heaven.

why just George Bush??? Why wait until now? This issue has come up repeatedly. The only good reason is that the dems needed a dirty trick and that guy with the new ad wanted something else to back up his Texans for Truth crap.

Zip code for Ellington today is 77034 but look at this document. Shows zip as 77030.

Has the zip code changed since 72 or 73? How do you find out?

The documents released by Bush are all in typewriter print and where appropriate there are names and signatures.

The "new" documents don't look at all like those Bush released. If they are legitimate, they should look like the Bush documents.

Navymom - See the post above by redneckbob...the 2nd link is to an "official" document with Killian's sig.

I called a document examiner's office in Georgia and was told that they do not take cases for investigation like this unless it is presented by an attorney. So, I just emailed the story and the URL"s for the documents to Ben Ginsberg so that he can take a look. And, we all know whose side he is on.
